I just bought (and have not picked up yet) a brand new (same color - black) Honda Pilot Ex-L and i'm going from a 2012 (which I absolutely loved) to this one the 2025 EX-L. So many new features to love. I'm not totally intimidated with all the new technology, but i'm trying to get out in front of that day (Monday 4/22) when I go to my local Everett MA dealer and get it. Needed a few things, like I added the body side molding which it used to come with and of course the Honda Mat package but, the amazing things that come standard are incredible. Thanks for taking me on the test drive, still more to learn - basic stuff, but going from 2012 to 2025 is a huge jump in upgrades, but all is good .. thanks and nice job on this tour! I bought a 2023 Honda Pilot Elite, as opposed to a GMC Denali and I am thrilled with the decision. Excellent car at 15 months old (and only 3500 miles). I have owned 5 previous Honda's starting with a 1987 Accord LX. I had a 2008 pilot I traded for a Cadillac SRX for the safety features it had. An I will day it is not near as hood as this Pilot. Honda did well. What does it still need - a MUTE button for the radio, a larger center screen, and a wider HUD. Also they need to figure out the issue with the HUD and sun glasses, especially polarized glasses. And I would like to be able to put more data on the "windshield". But other than that great car and the dog likes it too!

Has Honda caught on that people want the shifter stick put back into the Pilot instead of the da?n buttons? Are they still using the crummy timing belt that costs about $2,000 to replace at 100,000 miles? Long past are the days when Honda was designed and built in Japan. The Pilot is about equal to Ford or GM in terms of parts life, had Gen 2 and 3 pilots lets just say lots of costly repairs just like American SUV nameplates.

This is about right price for this vehicle. This is Top of line Pilot the Black Edition is just appearance package but same as Elite. It's in line with other vehicles in this market. That would be KIA Telluride,Hyundai Palisade, They may give you a slight more premium interior luxury feel. The Pilot prioritize Driving Dynamics in watching other KZbins. So it handles road imperfections a little better. But it's same as other competitors. Your going to pay in the 60K range for Acura MDX. So you would have to get AWD Acura MDX with Advance Package to get somewhat same features as Pilot Elite. The 360 Multi-View Camera System, The ventilated front seats Heads-Up Display, The 2nd Row Heated Outboard seats removable storage 2nd Row center seat. Your basically getting the same AWD System IVTM4 in Honda vs Acura Super Handling AWD in MDX. It was upgraded on the 4th Generation Pilot. The TrailSport Pilot was tweaked a bit more. So my point you couldn't just go buy a AWD Acura MDX and have same features. You would have to get advanced package on Acura to match features on Pilot Elite. But the Acura would give more premium features.

Did you get it yet? What made you want this car?
@fredmoss45406 ай бұрын
@joelc9329 Not yet but hopefully soon. But we went to Honda Dealership just over a month ago to purchase new car. Since I'm the car person in the family I do research. My nephew needed a car badly. His 2009 Ford Focus was done. To much money for him to repair. So his mother and I said look at getting him used. He's not young but paying high rent ect. So I'm a Honda/Acura fan boy in my 60s. This is what I had since age 19. So his mother and I said we get him a used Honda Civic 2019 probably. Then I thought about it get cheap new Civic. We'll that didn't turn out that way. We got a 2024 Civic Sport Hatchback. They not that cheap. But nephew liked my choice he test drove. This was before me and his mother got there to pay for it. It's in his name she just wrote check. So while getting Civic sales lady gave me Key-Fob to Pilot Touring trim. They didn't have Elite on lot. I gave it a good look. This is the only Pilot that I have ever really liked exterior styling. But I was planning on getting Honda Ridgeline Pickup Truck. If they had did redesign like Pilot. I use to want Acura MDX for years. My current car is nearing 25yrs old it's a 2000 Acura 3.2TL. My sister has a 2007 Honda Ridgeline that I picked out.My previous new vehicles were 80 Prelude 90 and 94 Accord sedans. My goddaughter has a Acura TSX before that she had Civic. But all my research was done expecting 3rd Gen Ridgeline would get 4th Gen Pilot treatment. When this was known not going to happen. I said I could live with Pilot Elite trim. The Poor Man's Acura MDX Advance trim.
