I would go for the Enfield if I were to pay for it myself. Although that Classic with the windsreen and chrome pipe was awesome. The guys I mostly ride with are Harley fan boys, respectively Road Glide, Softail and a Dyna. These are all older, "real" Harleys and must admit to that they look and sound awesome. As I ride a Vulcan I get some stick, on the other hand they propably just envy the fact that they never have to wait for me as I don´t have to tinker with my bike. And I have a shorter wheel base so on our curvy roads I have to hold back a little so they can keep up. Not one of these guys like the new Harleys and they really should be in the main target group for new bike sales. So they will ride their older bikes for as long as they are able to ride, and HD will propably fold in just a few years time. HD has lost sight of it´s heritage, they used to build bikes for the masses, now they stubbornly try to cater to the upper end of the market. Without realizing that the train has left the station. Royal Enfield is now what HD used to be, they do everything right at this moment in time.

For city riding 5 gears is plenty. And I think that's the intention. Honestly, I think they look amazing and 80hp is enough for most people.

The ratios put the 5th gear in 6th gear territory. IMHO what Harley should have done that with the Evo sporties.

As an owner of more than one Harley I a most impressed by the Indian Scout line because the motor looks good from either the left or right side which is something Harley failed miserably at. Worse for Harley their radiators are ridiculous an harm the styling

I have 2016 Harley Roadster Cafe’d out. Yes it has 5 Speed - and you might think that isn’t enough. But it’s all about gear ratio and torque. I live in Los Angeles CA, and my 5-speed bike needs to cruise in highway at 85~90 mph (and often close to 100 mph when passing). And it does that flawlessly at 4~5k rpm. Yep, CA highway moves fast when its flowing.

Agreed. The Scouts look nicer than the Nightster. I like the idea of the Nightster, but it needs to look cooler. Also, I’d like to see a 750 version available as HD’s most entry-level offering, though I’m sure it would be near impossible to make the math work. 👍

The new Indian Scout Sixty would be my first choice if it weren’t for the recently unveiled Royal Enfield Classic 650 at EICMA, which really impressed me. I need to see both in person to decide. That said, in my country, Spain, Indian still has few dealerships. The closest one to me is about an hour away. Meanwhile, Harley-Davidson and Royal Enfield have dealerships almost everywhere here and across Europe.

Bit surprised they re-launch the Scout 60! The market needs lower cc bikes or Adventure bikes. The FTR would make a good starting point for one. I would of liked to see a more classic looking 750cc looking bike at a lower price range. As a current Indian rider I was drawn by the unique classic look, the fender the lines of the bike but they seem to be dropping all the classic looking baggers. That's what set them aside from Harley!! Also the Roadmaster and the Chieftain were to have water cooled engines for 2025, assume that's going to wait till mid 2025 as the early 2026 release!!

I recommend Indian as an entry level model. They are infinitely better designed than Harley's equivalent. The Nightster is an afterthought. Unfortunately. I say this as a former owner of the real Nightster, which actually was a classic cool bike.

I had occasion recently to sit on the new Scouts in the showroom. I was disappointed that the new versions feel far more top heavy than the outgoing models, with a much higher center of gravity, putting me out of the market for them. I hope the new 60s are more like the ones they're replacing.

You know, without me looking at any of them it seems like I heard some other riders saying exactly that. Like there's a small "glut" of 250-500 cc cruiser bikes that were cheap brand new so I imagine that "Lint" can buy a few of them? I do like some of the Indian's.... pretty sharp but everything is pricey now. peace

So recently i was in the market for a sub 10k bike. I am a returning ride with kids and the family with that being said I’m a hardy guy and was thinking about a sportster not the Pos they have now the original sportster and behold they did not sell it anymore so after writing and seeing the Pos thing, they call Sports now it was a hard pass for me not just because the price for sure that was 60% of it Thanks to that though. It made me do some research as far as what other bikes are out there I ended up buying a rebel that was a mistake trading it in one year later and found something with character and heritage. Triumph bonnevile. Speed twin to be exact! With that being said i never looked at indian thinking they were as expensive seeing that they have a 10k might check then this year and who knows..

Polaris-Indian not soon bankrupt as Harley?
@robbyclark6915
@robbyclark6915 2 ай бұрын
I'll openly admit that I'm not a fan of Indian motorcycles. Much of that has to do with the terrible, TERRIBLE service i received at the local dealership that deals in Honda, BMW, Indian, and the Polaris stuff. Lots of Polaris stuff. They are the no. 1 reason i ride a Harley and probably always will. The only reason I don't have a nightster is that ridiculous price Harley started with when it first launched. $15k plus all the extra nonsense. What a jackass move, Harley! They almost sunk that bike right there. Maybe they did? Too soon to tell. I bought an LRS instead, and im not looking back. If i could get any of these smaller, liquid cooled offerings, it would be the nightster s. I do like performance, and having more power on less weight sounds like a win-win!

I'm not a 🌈 communist, so I won't buy a Harley, so I bought a Triumph and probably will always ride Triumph. Don't like a company, don't deal with them. Don't blame Indian for a local Honda dealer.

@robbyclark6915 2 ай бұрын
@logangodofcandy yeah, cause Triumph and Indian don't have woke policies, huh? Yeah, they're pure as the driven snow, I'm sure. Or maybe robby Starbuck just didn't run a hit piece on them like he did Harley? Anyway, my politics has nothing to do with the motorcycle I ride, but maybe I like rainbows and snowflakes? What's it to you? Btw, I'm not judging Indian based on Honda. I'm judging it based on an Indian dealership. That's why they sell Indian motorcycles. Hello? That's why it says "Indian" on the building. They also sell BMW and Polaris. Why didn't you mention them? Just sounds better when you throw shade at Honda? I'd rather own a Honda than an Indian. Oh wait, i do own a Honda, too. Doesn't matter anyway. I'm not a fan of Indian. They copy Harley Davidson too much. I'd feel like I'm riding the "wanna be" motorcycle. But maybe you should not judge all Harley dealerships and Harley riders based on the corporate office and their politics? See how that works?
