I remember watching Cold Mountain when I was 17 years old and being blown away. It's an amazing movie IMO. I've known it's been on blu-ray for like 3 years now but I've been waiting for the 4K. Looking forward to the 2025 releases.

I think for( THE SUBSTANCE)I heard that mubi has full theatrical and physical Blu-ray 4K rights worldwide . So I wouldn't count on anybody else putting out any physical release but this is just a rumor I could be wrong so you never know just what I heard.

I'm so excited for Sound of Music to come out in 4k. It looks good in Bluray but could be absolutely amazing in 4k HDR/DolbyVision. It incorporates such great lighting and shadows that could be even better in 4k.

As for 20th Century Fox, I’d love to see Patton. It was shot in 65mm Dimension 150 and if transferred correctly would look stunning on 4K.

The Blu-ray doesn't even look better than the dvd so I doubt it. It's a super low budget amateur production. Guess it just means the image can be blown up bigger with more pixels.

Know this is probably not a favorite for a lot of people, but I would love to see Ridley Scott’s Black Rain released on 4K. Very good movie if you’re a fan of that genre (cop/buddy film). Was a very stylishly filmed movie (1989) and very ahead of its time. Has aged fairly well imo.

All three of the Smith titles, as well as The Right Stuff and Little Shop are must buys for me. The Sound of Music should look amazing in 4k being shot in Todd-AO 70mm. I'll pick up the Searchers too. I was hoping my purse would get some relief after the huge months of November and December, but it seems not. Every time someone tells me physical media is dead my bank account ends up a couple hundreds of dollars lighter. This week for me is Elvira (which I actually received a couple of weeks ago), Seven Samurai, Born of the Fourth of July, and Plans, Trains and Automobiles steelbook. Gruv just shipped my Terminator steelbook as well, so we'll see how long that takes to arrive.

Anxious for the 3 disc Arrow release on 4k of "The Great Escape." It's being released in England in December, but the American Arrow distributor hasn't put up a date. "The Searchers," "The Right Stuff," "Little Shop of Horrors," "The Sound of Music," "The English Patient," "Kingdom of Heaven and "Master and Commander" we will definitely pre-order! 2024 was a big year for physical media and 2025 looks even better! Great time to collect films!

I hope next year we get Pokemon: The First Movie Special Edition next year on blu ray. Should’ve been out this year for the anniversary but I could see them doing what Kevin Smith is doing for Dogma with it coming out on physical media again next year. I know they have the first three movies in a triple feature but Pokemon: The First Movie deserves a spectacular release of its own including the Pikachu’s Vacation short too. Don’t know why Pikachu’s Vacation is so unable to be inciuded. The rumor is about someone from the Japanese cast being in jail for drug dealing but why would that cause the movie to be almost lost media? Makes no sense to me. Someone please include it for a special edition with all the bells and whistles on Pokemon: The First Movie. Glad Smith gets to put some of his out and I think Dogma is apparently on the way next year he said. Good video Ken and ty again for what you do and keep up the awesome work please!

The Searchers should look phenomenal in 4K. I'll definitely be grabbing that one. Now that it looks like Disney is slowly releasing titles from captivity, I hope we get a 4K upgrade of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H. It's a comedy classic that should be licensed to Criterion, as they have released several other Altman titles.

Ken, why the English Patient downplay? The English Patient, British-American film, released in 1996, that won glowing reviews and nine Academy Awards, including that for best picture. It also won four BAFTA Awards, including best picture, as well as the Golden Globe Award for best drama.

FYI, Celluloid dreams 4k releases only have the physical extra's when you order from them directly. I ordered their last release from a third party expecting the slip cover and post cards but only received a plastic case version. This was never stated by the owner on a podcast.

For those that may complain about Amazon price matching Barnes and Noble please remember there are other countries in existence besides the U.S. and a lot of U.S. stores and boutique labels (GRRRRR) including B&E wont send to us so we need an option too and Amazon is it.

And I like THE ENGLISH PATIENT and COLD MOUNTAIN. Not a John Wayne fan but THE SEARCHERS is big news. I'll get this. Do you know if plane, trains and automobiles is a new transfer because the one that was released last year at Christmas was a horrible transfer for 4K. They DNRed all of the grain out that’s why I never upgraded it.
