Have you ever used magic thread for tiny anchovie signed to hook or seen any videos of it?It works.
@Busydad2 күн бұрын
I have not used it myself but I’ve seen people using it as keeping the bait on the hook is critical. I personally just try to keep my anchovies frozen as long as possible but maybe I need to try the magic thread one day, especially during the summer when it’s a challenge to keeping the anchovies frozen. Thank you for the suggestion. 🙏 Tight lines!

I am watching your video now. Thank you for the details on your line setup. I am hoping to see you catch something stop. I have been hesitating to go out myself because it's been so cold but I fish from the same spot a lot. Good luck and God bless!

I know cold temperatures makes it tough especially when the bite is so slow. If you see me out there stop by to say hi. Tight lines to you and you family!

Went to Boulder Harbor today. Water was much higher than when I was there in December. 1 catfish. 18”. No wind. Chilly early but was a beautiful day.
@Busydad13 күн бұрын
The bite has been so slow so any catch is a great catch. I noticed the water level did come up at least a few feet as well. I’ll be heading out to Boulder Harbor tomorrow morning to see if I can get my first catch of the year. Wish me luck.

@ hope you had a successful day and the wind wasn’t an issue.

Had an awesome day. The wind wasn’t bad at all. Editing my outing now.

Damn…it’ll start picking up soon hopefully. My last 2 visits I got skunked! It’s a little discouraging tbh, but I’m always watching your videos along with sin city outdoors to critique my technique. Getting my first kayak tomorrow!
@Busydad15 күн бұрын
Wow, how exciting! Getting your kayak will make a big difference as you be able to cove so grounds and fish the deeper water. Just be careful on the windy days as Lake Mead can get real choppy. Hopefully I’ll run into you one day. Tight lines and enjoy your new kayak!

Great video!! Always like watching what u catch and techniques u be using! Do u ever night fish ?
@Busydad13 күн бұрын
Night fishing at Lake Mead is something I’d like to try. I know with green light people can catch a lot. The challenge is filming at night with GoPro is so tough but it is something I would like to do. Maybe when it gets a bit warmer on my kayak. I appreciate you watching my videos and commenting. 🙏

@Busydad yea i take my little power station with my bright spotlight. That lights up the entire spot we are fishing , then we set up the chairs and the fishing pools. After watching your video I bought some waders and I fish at one of the spots in your video.thank u so much for making that video, spots to fish at lake mead . Keep up the good work. Can't wait for your next video.

It can be tough out there. Hopefully you’ll break the skunk streak on your next outing. Sometimes you’ll catch a big one when you’re least expecting. I wish you the best.

Love when one your vids pop up. What month does it start to pick up?
@Busydad14 күн бұрын
The bite will usually pick up in the spring. However, I’ve had good catches during the winter months as well. Usually it’s based on having your lines out during the optimal feeding time. But things get a little challenging with fluctuating water levels plus the bite will change based on the moon phase too. For me it’s simple. The more time I go out, there are better odds that I’ll catch something. Plus, I really love just being out in the water. Stay tuned as I’ll be going out soon to catch my first fish of 2025. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🙏

It’s hard to do a catch & cook when you get skunked but you can always do a cast & cook.

Ever go fishing at Floyd Lamb Park?!?
@Busydad6 күн бұрын
I have the pass and I’ve been to Floyd Lamb Park but it’s a bit far from Henderson plus didn’t have much success so I haven’t been back in a while. Has the fishing been good there? Maybe I should to go back once the weather gets a little warmer to mix things up.

Even though no fish, they are still interesting. Why not show some of the products you purchased from Ali Express or Temu? Later... George Bonafino

Have you ever used chicken livers for catfish at Mead? If so did you have any success? Thanks.
@Busydad8 күн бұрын
I know there are those that swear by it but I still have not used chicken liver yet. I’ve used cool aid soaked chicken breast and had some success but didn’t like my hands getting sticky. 😁 I might have to try it when the bite picks up for my next bait challenge.

@Busydad15 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting🙏 I go the small folding burner/stove from Ali Express. It was about $13 when I got it. The Stanley cook set was from Amazon. amzn.to/4gEAfjX Stanley also has an upgraded cook set that is bigger and cheaper too. amzn.to/404kUCa Again, appreciate the support and tight lines to you and your family!

Why do you want the leader to be more lbs than the line?
@Busydad15 күн бұрын
I got used to fishing in the ocean with very toothy fish like barracudas and the leader near the hook was what got cut and frayed faster then the main line. I never liked using steel leader so since that time I've been using a leader that is bit stronger. It probably doesn't make sense here fishing for stripers, catfish and carp, plus, it was what I had and didn't want to go out and buy another spool. Since there are so many snags at Lake Mead, I probably should be using a lighter leader but as Iong as I'm catching fish I'm not going to change anything. After 2 skunk outings maybe I should try a lighter leader. 😁

I appreciate all the suggestions. I’m still getting used to the new mic but will play around with the location. Plus, I should lose a few pounds so I don’t need to breath so heavy.😁 Thanks for watching and commenting. 🙏
