There is no way Pats go defense. They have an itty bitty window of opportunity. They drafted a QB before aquiring the talent to help him. Now they are traped in a situation where they have to get Drake help this offseason.

I disagree. The Patriots need top level talent. They can address OL plus WR in free agency and day two of the draft. In the first they should select best player available. Abdul Carter and Will Johnson fill needs. If they like one of them better than Campbell, Banks or Tmac then take him.

You’re right maye needs help, however these tackles and wrs aren’t all that good. We need someone that can anchor that defense for years to come. Taking Carter is a great idea. You can draft grey zabel or greene in the later rounds.

@@cent-ns1lm Those second rounders are unlikely to be WR1. We have dafted SOOO many WRs in the second round and not one has panned out. The WR position is hard to predict, but T-Mac seams to be a WR1 stud. If the Pats scout him and they do not think he is a WR 1 then dont pick him, but that means we are pretty much screwed and we sucked for nothing. 10 months ago it looked like there would be 4 or 5 WR1s in free agency but all of them were signed to extensions

@@carlhodsdon6487 Our pass rush hasn’t been that good. I would still take the best player available. Abdul Carter is a superstar. I really don’t think TMAC is good he hasn’t played in real defenses

It’s possible but I don’t see the comparison. AR wasn’t a good college qb and got drafted purely based on physical traits, whereas cam ward was undeniably great for Miami this year

@TheWinningFormula1 anthony richardson can still be really good. I'm not saying that as a bad comparison, but it's a project with high upside that's gonna take time. Wards inevitably gonna go to a team that's gonna feed him to the wolves with limited weapons. There's gonna be some growing pains before a payoff. If there is payoff at all

If Cam Ward goes to the right situation he will be grt. Unfortunatly he is going to go to a top 5 team and they will probably waste his talent. The NFL should enact a rule prohibiting top five picks from being used on Quarterbacks. This would save dysfunctional teams from themselvs. It would also allow promising QBs to go to franchises that will not waste their talent. They can call it the Trevor Lawrence Rule.

@@ok-xj1ju Historicly when teams draft a QB top 5 that player is off the team B4 the end of his rooky contract 75% of the time. They win the supperbowl 0% of the time. The very best team at drafting early is Cincinati. In the last 25 years they twice took a QB with the first pick in the draft. Both went on to multiple probowls and Cincinatti has still been one of the worst franchises in football over that span, and they are further from winning a Supperbowl than at any time since their last #1 pick. When you take a QB early you hope to become the Bungles. That is your dream. You will never be a champ but atleast you are entertaining. What you heard is not dumb it is historic reality. Picking a QB in the top 5 is usualy terrible but it is always bad.

@@carlhodsdon6487 dude Joe Burrow is the sole reason that franchise is even relevant lol. You think they would be where they are now if they drafted a cornerback or O-lineman at 1? And by the way, you're wrong about the superbowl comment. Both Mannings have won and were drafted at #1. Stafford won and is still relevant almost 15 years after being drafted. Newton won an MVP. Goff, Baker, and Burrow are some of the most consistent in the league. We'd be talking about the Hall of Fame with Luck if not for poor management from Indy. You cannot win a championship with sub-par QB play. Which makes it by far the most important position to lock in with a high draft pick. What a braindead comment man. Making up statistics for no reason lol
