great concept, but can they pull it off without issues? I don't have a ton of faith in Stellantis engineers, but hopefully they prove it to be a success. Straight EV pickups don't make sense for anyone who uses a truck like a truck and pulls anything more than 100 miles.

Very interested in this but will wait a few years to make sure he technology pans out. The grand Cherokee hybrid (yeah, different platform but still Stelantis I think) has been riddled with issues.

It is not a hybrid. When there is no drive shaft and no transmission it is called a range extender. Mazda has an under powered range extender that isn't sold in the US. I am not impressed with any range extender that uses gas. Diesel is the way to go.

Why would you want a diesel range extender? For the most part the motor is never running. Diesels, with all their pollution control. Bullshit are prone to mechanical issues unless driven at highway conditions for long periods. For an intermittent engine gasoline is the only way to go. So I'm glad the makers of this truck disagree with you.
