2025 Ram RHO 1500 Rebel High output Hurricane 540hp, is this a Raptor Killer? Ford FanBoy impression

What do you think of the 2025 Ram RHO, TRX replacement with the 540hp 3.0l Twin turbo 6 cylinder engine? Is this going to be a great off road full size truck?

I went to my local dealer and built an RHO as expensive as I could make it and it ended up being about $91k MSRP. I was wanting a Final Edition TRX but unfortunately $125k wasn’t in my budget. Luckily I can still have a good time in the RHO once they start shipping.

I think the truck will make a lot of sense if you can get it under MSRP and near the starting price.

@@CTECH-REVIEWyeah the dealer said right off the bat they will come off the price at least $4k. I added all the options to it, level 1 equipment package, beadlock wheels, red interior accents, offroad side steps, graphics package, bed utility group and moonroof. Pricing of those packages mirror the current TRX package prices except the level 1 equipment was a little over $9k. I was looking at getting a Raptor but none of my local dealers have any allocated for the remainder of the year and since I can get the Ram which is more powerful and looks very good I’ll get it instead. The interior technology is a big selling point for me along with the price.

If I’m not mistaken, they only have one option for the car which is like a technology upgrade for about $10k. So $91k seems very overpriced.

Base model 2021TRX was $69K, lol. Before I buy an RHO, I would look for a used 2022 TRX with low mileage.

Several painfully obvious things you either A) are unaware of or B) intentionally omit for an unknown reason. For the average consumer who buys HP vs. off-road performance capability, your video is on the money. But for the rest of the enthusiast here are some important facts. RAM had a chance to do something off-road performance oriented. with the ‘25 RHO. Instead they chose to keep many of the TRX’s old crutches. But there’s still some good. Cons: - still only 13” front 14” rear suspension travel (same as the TRX, 37” Raptor & Raptor R option packages) vs. the 35” Raptors 14” front 15” rear suspension travel (1” added UP-travel). - same 2.5” bilstein shocks as on the TRX vs. the Gen3 Raptors 3.1” Fox Live Valve shocks - 700lb+ weight disadvantage over a 35” Gen3 Raptor. Pros: - 540hp/520lb ft w/ ZF 8-speed (largely negated by its 700lbs+ over the Gen3’s 35” Raptor) - 150lbs less than the TRX (now ~6,290lbs) vs. the 35” Raptors ~5,600lbs - $71,990 MSRP vs. Raptors $80,325 MSRP.

What is interesting is Ram is claiming 0-60 in 4.6 seconds for RHO, but also claimed that TRX was 4.5 seconds...but most (including myself) have regularly been able to do 0-60 in 4.0 seconds with stock TRXs. My gen 3 Raptor on 37s did a 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, and my Raptor R just did a 3.94...I think I can get a 3.7 in better conditions. Ram hasn't said if the RHO will retain the 8HP95 transmission, or if it will get the standard 8HP75, which TC it will get and what suspension changes will be made. Stay tuned!

Ordered one with an MSRP of 88k and guaranteed to get it for 78k at most. A similarly optioned Rebel is 82-84k msrp. The "final edition" TRX are 125k. 37k less for 160 HP less and a nicer interior is a winner for me. Owned a 23 TRX, a Redeye Charger and many other V8 Mopars. Wife also has a HO Hurricane equipped Grand Wag so i know how it moves.

And I’m a Raptor guy that turned into a TRX guy had a 2021 TRX, now 2023 currently, and I don’t know where I stand. But I think the RHO is going to be sick.

125k for a trx 😂, that’s called a fair sucker adjustment fee. My buddy got his for less than 90k without the sucker adjustment fee and they wanted to buy it back from him. Don’t be fooled, that trx isn’t worth close to 125k, check resale and you’ll see some low mileage ones in the 70s

Got a used level 2 trx with the factory warranty still intact for 80k. You'll spend more than that for a level 2 RHO with less horsepower. Make it make sense.

They should have made the RHO its own. Body style and all. I don’t trust Ram to be around long term but if they are and they figure themselves out bring back the TRX with their updated HEMI. I’m glad I got my TRX last year. No way could I afford or justify $125,000 for 2024.

The big miss was packaging the Hurricane into a vehicle that is 99% TRX. They couldn’t even make an effort to use a different wheel. Can you imagine if Ford put the ecoboost into the Gen 1 Raptor? It would have been terrible. Ram should have made this change with an all new truck. These will sell to Ram enthusiast for sure, especially when you can order them 10k off msrp. The price is right, but in my opinion they should have made more of an effort to give the truck its own identity.
