I rather have the Honda Passport with better engine and transmission and a real V6. This seems compromised in so many ways, but at least they give you rear seat vents that they don’t to Tacoma.

Absolutely no way this price is justified. They had 15 years to recover the r&d from the last and it is priced like this? This is a 35k start vehicle hands down with that screen and those interior materials. Get real

Buyers say NO…. Why 1. Price 40k- 67k (plus markup >6k) 2. Recall and engine not proven 3. Hybrid batteries last about 80k miles with proper care maybe 200k miles. Another expensive later on.
@craig8638
@craig8638 7 күн бұрын
The hybrid batteries do not last 80,000 miles. I had a Prius with over 100,000 miles without any issues.
@09FoxRider
@09FoxRider 7 күн бұрын
@ yes but the level of stress you put on a Prius is minimal as compared to what a true 4 Runner. Most owner will push the limits on the off road capabilities plus the additional aftermarket weight will play a factor in the recharge and discharging process. Keep in mind all battery are not meant to last forever so at some point you will need to replace the system that about 5 grand later down the road. That will hurt the resale value of the older vehicle especially after the warranty expires. Right now Toyota offers a 10yr or 150k miles warranty.
@BTC909
@BTC909 7 күн бұрын
@@09FoxRider Even without aftermarket goodies you are still looking at a lot more weight with a Tacoma / 4Runner over a Prius.
@KNRS927
@KNRS927 6 күн бұрын
@@09FoxRider The people that actually use their 4x4s to do serious off roading buy used ones and modify them. Even then, 95% of 4Runners are just pavement queens and the hybrid powertrain is just fine for that. The most of-roading most 4Runners will do is grass or gravel roads that a Prius can handle. Also, Toyota hybrids do last a long time, many Prius owners have gone 150k+ or 200k+ miles on the original battery.

This just proves that the only ones that like this new gen. are the ones that are not even 4runner fans to begin with let alone Toyota fans. It’s evident that Toyota doesn’t know what they’re doing and the fan base they are trying to attract.

Every one I talk to would like Toyota to do a hybrid truck or SUV like this that gets good mileage not just more power. Why add complexity if it doesn’t really do anything for the vehicle.

@@johnt1115 actually his comment is not ridiculous and there has already been proven gen 5 models going 300k miles plus. Now trying to find any past turbo models is quite a different story which reminds me of working on a Volkswagen. We should ask those customers but wait there’s not a lot of turbo models around to ask. Toyota is so setting you guys up to keep coming back for that turbo maintenance, It’s not even funny. To see the denial of people trying to defend turbos in a car all of a sudden is a bigger joke 🙈

People were complaining when the last gen came out a decade ago that it wouldn’t be reliable. This is a proven reliable power train (unlike the new turbo v6), of all the new Toyota “trucks”, this looks the best. Only thing I don’t like is how 4A is only on a handful of models (issue for snowy cities).

Yeah I agree with some others about the pricing and such. Our previous ORP would be at least $16k more, and our present PRO is at least $13k more, and I just don’t see the benefits. Nothing about the newer model grabs my attention. Maybe ventilated seats might be interesting, or a better stock sound system…but that’s just not worth buying a vehicle 😵‍💫. 👍🤪🏳️‍🌈

Toyota saturated the market with the same TNGAF cookie-cutter truck. Landcruiser 300, 250, GX, LX, Tundra, Sequoia, Tacoma, 4runner, Hilux, Fortuner, and now the 4runner -- all on a single platform now. Saturated, overpriced.

The 6th gen looks cool at first until you drive it hearing that sound like a 4cyl Nissan rogue rental. No way should a 50k vehicle should sound like that at alll🙈 Sorry Toyota, that base model interior has got to be the worst I’ve seen for that price as well.
