Why can’t manufacturers just make I-6 engines for off-road vehicles. Want more hp, trq,or fuel efficiency…add a supercharger. This twin turbo stuff has got to go ( especially 4 cylinders) for long term maintenance costs and problems. Just missing the days of knowing that my engine will get to 200k miles easily, and with torque on demand Separate but related..have you done a video on the Ineos lineup? Love to see you do one!

Start looking into your federal level elected officials voting records on EPA requirements. If they've voted in favor of any new requirements or haven't tried to repeal some then vote them out. Meeting emissions requirements is one of the main reasons these manufacturers have gone to small turbos. Mileage is not their main concern. Emissions are. The easiest way to meet standards are to have less cylinders. The turbos make up for the lack of displacement in the rev ranges where most people actually use them. What these policy makers never ask themselves because they don't know what they are talking about anyway is this. If the worlds major automakers can't figure out a way to meet emissions standards besides using less reliable and ancient tech doesn't that mean we're not as advanced as they think and maybe EV's aren't where they need to be. If ICE engines aren't fully sorted out even after decades and the power grid to charge all the not ready for prime time EV's is even farther behind the curve that maybe we should hold hold off on all the "save the world" theater they love. No, they never ask these things because reality doesn't matter to them. Getting and holding power matters. And if they can fool enough people into believing what they are saying will work actually will then they gain power. For a while. But after another few years with increasing prices and declining reliability some of the fools will start asking questions and start voting for different liars.

Toyota has gotten worse as it has become more American. Same thing with Sony, a legendary Japanese brand known for quality that slowly began to "westernize" itself in order to meet the demands of our much larger customer base, eventually going so far as to completely relocate their headquarters here, at which point they became a completely insufferable company (putting out junk for ridiculous prices and rubbing our faces in Marxist politics). Sony didn't realize that we loved them for being Japanese - for the quality of their products - and the exact last thing they should do is become "more American" to make more money. Toyota is doing the same exact thing (except thankfully Mr Toyoda is very based and sparing us the Marxism).
@Scroll_Lock17 сағат бұрын
I bet I know why the TRD Pro is forcing hybrid. Regulatory standards care about market share percentages of which you can calculate market share by dividing your company's total sales (either in dollars or units) by the total sales (in dollars or units) of the entire market within a specific period. I got this info from the EPA's own published .pdf Toyota is calculating by dollars. Ill also bet you that even though Ford lost billions on their Lightning they still priced it way up there to be able to offset the standards so they could sell all of those F-150's. You only have to have these offerings in your vehicle lineup, you don't have to actually sell them yet. Hello price increases across the board to mitigate some of that loss and not likely just "greed" as an easy answer. It's the government people, it's always the government making your life difficult. If you think you hate the nanny-state, you don't hate it enough.
