If you are going to fake something, you could at least use the same year for all the pictures. There are some mid 60's or before front ends, early '70's taillights, some with sixties bumperettes, some with new beetle front ends. If they really were going to introduce something like this, there wouldn't be so many variations in the early production models.

More likely it was a way for Hitler to finance the war not many early cars survived but many down payments where made sound almost like a Tesla Scheme,but you’re likely to never see even a prototype. As for new Beetles they are a good car and have creature comforts that make them enjoyable.My SIL had a 1967 Beetle had great heat mid July and no heat in winter it’s best feature was that you could push start it when needed.
