The poor sales has very little to do with the car itself. All manufacturers are having trouble selling cars these days. The mustang had its worst year as far as sales. However it’s still the best selling sports car. Until prices get to be more reasonable, car sales will remain flat.

Yes that’s true as well. But a lot of s550 owners are holding off like myself as the car has gotten expensive and doesn’t offer worthy upgrades over s550. If prices remained same but they really upgraded it over s550 most people would go for it

@@Red5ohpp1 gt owner here. There is no reason for ford to have a fully loaded mustang gt for 60-70k, there are alot of s550 trims that are faster- lesser price that are used rn that you can buy like gt350/500/mach 1

the silent killer was removing the MT82 out of the Ecoboost. people can’t even enter into the Mustang on the cheap period.

2019 I purchased a Mustang Premium GT PP1, 401A, $40K new. With the prices, I am now drive a Corvette C8 2025. It would have been silly to pay nearly the same money for a GT.....

Yeah I agree an earlier refresh is needed. I think they should change the taillights and make that screen inside actually for the console instead of looking like 2 iPads glued on.

YES the digital gauge unit is fine, but make it fit into the dash like a conventional gauge cluster. Same with the screen in the center stack - make it integrated into the dash as well.

Since the price won't change all they have to do is make the tremec standard across the line, lighten up the car, and open up tuning at least. They also got to stop the "Mustang" naming nonsense. A sedan named "Mustang" would cannibalize sales for sure, creating an issue in the future where people/Ford would question needing the coupe (though that IS the Mustang). With the Mach E, it actually sat on lots before the huge markups and incentives, but media still put stupid headlines up that hurt the Mustang's image to people.

The minimum they should do is roll the MSRP back to the levels for the 2024 model year. With the current changes in the regulatory environment, they don't need to be charging so much to fund their money losing EV business - just punt on that instead.......

Why is a dark horse 75k it’s a hard sell I seen a c8 corvette with a few thousand miles for the same price. Lazy with the 5.0 should have been 520-550 and up the trq numbers. Even if the had to up the engine displacement.

You base c8 brand new off the lot are typically listed around 64k so DH at even $65k with couple option is a hard sell I love mustangs but if i had $60k I’m getting a used C8 over DH

Ford needs some different packaging. A drag package, a track package, a premium, etc. Paying for performance pack and getting the coolers means you get big brakes and can't run 17" wheel drag packs without swapping the brakes you paid for. You can't get mag ride without getting Premium which means a heavier car. A lot of people want to spend money on performance not screens. One screen would be fine, but we don't need the Jerry Jones screens in the car. We need tuning even if it's through Ford or Steeda. People want to run fuel systems and E85 or flex. it's a mess. The car is more refined than a lot of people realize, but not in the ways we necessarily want.

I feel like the 5.2 should be the easy one. All these special editions they release should have a version on that at minimum. They are doing R&D for the 7.3, but certifying it for production is another thing. Either way, nothing about the new one does anything to make me want to buy one. The 350R and the most recent GT500 were awesome, but they did everything they could to milk that as well.

New Gt or a used mustang, Vette, Viper, GTR and M series etc depending on budget. Ford might think since there’s no new Camaro or Challenger they don’t have competition. That’s my .02

Now I can understand why you’re still not upgrading from your current S550 to the new S650. They’re too similar so it doesn’t feel much like a new car for such a high price. I think the Mustang should be as spacious as the Challenger and also feature a sunroof like in said car on the hard-top models. Also, the wireless charger was removed for some reason right after the generation’s first model year and Ford should therefore reintroduce it for 2026. Finally, having less optional features would make it cheaper to produce by producing less options. Certain features which most people won’t mind even if they don’t need it should be made standard as a result. The moral of the story here is that offering multiple options at once is more expensive to produce.

Yup they mentioned overheating with the charger hopefully comes for 2026. But yeah to me it’s a very similar car thus not offering enough upgrades for me to justify the price increase. Since ecu is locked if I do get I’d be able to same stuff I’ve already done s550 (wheels, exhaust, tires, lowering springs etc) since it looks similar to s550 it wouldn’t feel like a new car even after these upgrades

The dash is shit. The dash needs a huge overhaul. Screens are fine but they need to be integrated. I doubt well see much with the exterior for the s650. Id say prolly a facelift but its not going to be huge. Ford needs a new exciting model. They need to replace the dark horse with maybe a boss and/or cobra. Were definitely not getting a new generation anytime soon tho

They have to give more for the price. If you can get a C8 corvette for a similar price, then the mustang should have a similar performance, and no PP GT or Darkhorse has similar performance to the C8

Heard the iPad daash is sluggish. Also, for me to pay these ridiculous prices I want AWD, stiffer bushings, not those crappy ones they put on it. Next, front facing camera. it's crazy even the Camaro had a performance recorder and front camera and Ford is stiff behind. Lastly, get rid of the cheap Chinese MT-82! Give us the Tremec!

Well, ECU and rates are an issue, but the packaging is all wrong. The Eco doesn't have a manual. The GT should be standard with 480hp, then have a 10k sports package with the 500hp motor, PP2 with MagneRide for less the 65k. The Dark Horse should be replaced. Its not a good package. Its ugly, cheap, expensive, heavy, slow and overhyped for what it is. It lacks value. No one is going to trade in an S550 GT350 for that. Which brings me to their biggest problem. The lack of Voodoo. Give the people what they want. Create a new Boss with a Voodoo 3 starting at 72k, toping off with an R at 80k, which is pretty much the max any Mustang is actually worth.

Without even watching the video i can tell you how they can fix the sales problem. Get back to the roots of what the Mustang is...a muscle car for the masses! @@Red5oh agreed, I just don’t think they are inclined to spend more money and time to change something that may not lead to increase in sales. That’s probably why the changes from 550 to 650 were less than previous generations. I mean mustang sold 122k in 2015 and decreased every year to 47k in 2022
