It was a little breezy but a nice weekend to shoot. The range i shoot at is not as open as yours but was still hitting +10's on the gusts. (Allentown area)

I shot 39gr b king for few yrs. When i went to 35gr berger hp. I shot 35 gr and 40 gr berger. Both shot very well in my 204 ruger. I use H4895. When i was shooting the 39 gr b king i used RL10. I fount 3 boxes of the 30 gr berger hp. Not made anymore. But they shoot good. We have alot of bobcats so i went with berger 35 gr hp. If i was going to shoot coyotes mostly i would use the 40 gr berger. I have used the 35 gr berger on hogs crows coyotes and bobcats. My gun is a TC Venture 204 ruger predator model. Flutted barrel and camo. My gun is a 1@10 twist. I have shot up to 45 gr sp. Some 1@12 cant stabilize the 39 gr and 40 gr bullets. My friend's 1@12 doesn't like the 39 gr b king . And 40 gr nosler bt bullets. He went with berger 35 gr hp. I use RCBS competition 204 die. I like it for seating the berger hp.

Your brass should be trimmed to 1.840. Don't know how your loads are fitting in the chamber when your max size is over 1.850. Get rid of your powder charger. Those things are crap. Buy your self a RCBS Chargemaster combo. They are extremely accurate as far as powder charge. Good luck !

I have a 204 upper for my ar it’s 1:12 twist shoots 39 sierras pretty much 1 hole. Doesn’t shoot 32gr as well the are about nickel size group. Have you shot any coyotes with the 39 sierra? How did they perform? I’m in Blair county. Thanks

I haven't, my rifle doesn't like 39gn as much as 32's and 35's. I'm switching this rifle out to 22" 223 Rem for 23-24 season, I had a bunch of runners at the end of last season...so going with more power.

Reloader 10x and lean on it up to safe pressure in your rifle. My CZ 527 likes 26.3 with that bullet.

I've taken two coyote in Pa with the 40gr Hornady's. One at 125yds and the second at 325yds. Neither bullet excited and both dropped on the spot. I was worried about bullet splash too, but my gun shoots the 40s so well.

Seems like you’re having a powder measure issue. Also 1.850 is your max case length for the 204 Ruger, if that’s what you’re trimming them to, they are surely growing past that when fired. I would trim to 1.840

Not sure on the powder measure, I measure using the balance beam and double checknit with the digital scale...its as good as I can get it. The ES on my 243 is single digits...measuring powder the same way.

PA Wild oh shit you are squared away then, your ES is good to go man. Only other thing you can do is mess with bullet seating depth. Two other things that help a lot with accuracy and are easy, glass bed your rifle, and anneal your brass. Idk if you are annealing but when I started my groups were a lot more consistent, especially on brass that’s been fired 3-4 times.

@@jesseryan4053 I anneal after every firing, seating depth is the last knob I turn. Right now i'm just trying to get the brass prep figured out to get ES as low as possible and find the velocity node for the gun/bullet combo. I intend to run Berger's this year so i'm just playing around with this stuff right now. Stay tuned I have a lot more work to do.

Use BM 8208, in Yank land that's IMR 8208. Specifically developed for 204 Ruger & gives the best velocities with less variation than all of the powders you used. I take 80 kg pigs with 27.3g behind 39gr blitz kings all day long.
