In this video I give you all of the strategies I have developed for the browser-based game 2048. I was able to consolidate up to a 4096 block using the strategies outlined above so hopefully these tips and tricks will help you understand how to go about beating this addictive game.

@@Dra3oon im not sure what you're asking but 2048 is not the largest block you can get. You can go to 4096, 8192, and so on. You "win" the game when you get a 2048 tile but you can still continue afterwards.

I pretty much figured out all of these on my own and it took me a HELL of a lot of time! It would have been better if I've seen this video before, and for all of those who can't reach 2048, just work on it! You can get there!

I personally like the "Snake" strategy better and have gotten ridiculously high scores with it (479476 is my current high score) it's similar to this one in where you stick the highest number in a corner, but then you go with second highest next to that and in the same direction third highest next to that then when you hit the end you move over 1 and go the opposite direction until you hit another wall and you do this until you have no more spots left

The only rule i ever followed before was "don't swipe down" and i'd line up all my numbers in order so I could just swipe through them all (it's super satisfying) so maybe i'll try this strat the next time my game ends. (right now i'm at a 4096 tile with a 2048 next to it and then a 512)

Without cheap undo my best is 8192 and 111344 points. I don't really use this strategy. I create a row in which they decrease from the top right corner to the left and then it loops around to include the second row. The problem is that I sometimes get a flat grid.

You have given a good basic strategy, but once you get your "home row" to decent numbers i actually found switching to the opposite side (up right instead of up left etc) to consistently achieve high scores. My highest score right now is 78012 which is approaching the 8192 tile.

Dude, THANKS for this video. I just got 2048 with a score of 20,something (phone died) after having the app installed for months! Prior to learning your strategy: I kept getting stuck at no more than 4,000 points.

My strategy is to use huge 2048. High score on 10x10 is 109,832, 8x8 is 1868 6x6 is 1,064 5x5 880 4x4 2,368 3x3 is 500. Editz: took me a long time.

My high score is in the 160,000 but the game I'm playing now I have a decision to make...if I do the dreaded down move I'll be able to pair up my two 4096 but I'll probably screw up the board by adding blocks between the format I've got going on.

Another strategy is to use ONLY three directions. I never swap left. And I have to make sure I won't ever have to do that. It works pretty well too.

In my experience, restricting to up and left, only allowing right when left is impossible (which is advocated in other videos), is not a winning strategy. [Note: just an example--all corners are symmetric.] Note that his strategy is much more complex than this, and looks much better.

Now we're playing 2048 for the first thing that will think about you, and if you're sort of stuck, then go right. For actually the highest value demonstration by collapsing everything but this option is too sensible as possible when it is pointless by low value numbers. That's a stupid idea for the locational by a button mashing by getting very close to 2048, consildating obviously will pretend it to do. It guarded lock so got fours and this is a couple of thing for four is locked too. There changed corners not to know but it makes sense. And it blocks by a format. Appearing the temptation by its format by through that you can try its game by remaining by consolidations to do is an example. Two at a same time. By messing the board, it consildates more insufficient by an innovations. And get more scores.

For 8x8 gird in 2048, you repeat these moves over and over: right, up, down, right. Then repeat over and over, it's not effective but it works

Well, my hi-score is 57,296. My strategy is similar, but I suppose it's slightly better. The first row is basically same as yours, but when I lock it, I make the second one in the opposite direction. This way you can consolidate it even better. I watched it just to see if it's similar as my strategy or even the same, and maybe to see something that could improve my strategy (well, that didn't happen in the end, as I already know all you shown here). But anyway, it's a nice guide and I guess most of people watching this can actually learn a lot of new skills from you.

Felt like a genius figuring this out on my own two days after I downloaded it. 125K is my current highscore after two weeks Update: Well after about four months of playing my highscore is at 1,3 million but now at 5 months of playing I'll have to say its not easy to break that record.

So you say to restrict yourself to up and left, and manage to trap yourself three times in 90 seconds, forcing yourself to go right or down. You literally said "just mash buttons." Nice strategy :/
