35:16 I once told some one to not worry about the problem spot yet. Said pass around it a couple of times and they would find a way to remove it. Advice I gave and should have used in life🤷♂️.

Nice work I really like that triple flow, and again you make me think of a illuminated display case, just enough light to warm the piece, for translucent points, my brain is like a dog when he sees a squirrel😁

Like that idea 💡 Mike. I know you could build a display case with those skills of yours. A lamp shade case might be cool. Frosted glass on the inside, clear glass on outside. Just have to figure out how to hold each item secure in the shades panels. 5 or 6 cases (panels) combined to make the lamp shade. Be a lot of work, but it would be so cool 😎.

The triple flow is very predictable on flake the flake scars. "How do I know?" "I don't." Thats a classic 👌 💯 🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👍 so much fun!!! "Knapping triple flow makes me giggle" 👍🤣🤣🤣 so funny 😁

Nice looking material. And nice point. Not something I would try. You just do fine.

12:56 awesome blade. I can never seem to support obsidian correctly that thin and I snap it. Normal clear glass holds together better for me.

Hmmm. Yeah, glass is good, but there's something about Obsidian that makes it less boring.😉

Knapping is easier in the cold, or at least when the rock is cold. Sometimes I’ll put a rock in the freezer for a bit if it’s giving me trouble

I've heard that before somewhere. Now I'm even more confused... 😂

Wonder if the cold makes it brittle. A hair dryer could test a difficult cold piece, when warmed up?
@KnapperJackCrafty9 күн бұрын
It's an interesting question. Yeah, a hair dryer would warm things up quickly, but my hand warms up the workpiece also. I'm almost afraid to experiment with it because of the possibility of stressing the glass/ Obsidian too much. Also, I have no way of knowing for sure if it's the heat that's making it easier or just the fact that my brain is getting used to the material.

An archeologist talked about finding flint flakes in one area of house floors that were excavated. At a paleo site in Montana or Wyoming. Suggesting that these fellows were finishing their points indoors during winter. Folks have to eat regardless of weather conditions. I'm sure they knaped outside when they could, can't imagine doing that with temperatures like some are experiencing this winter. 🤔🤔🤔👍😀
