UPDATE : no one has answered me on any of my questions so i went out and i bought the cups and the 21 day fix and i have to tell you this- i LIKE the cups! i like measuring my food with the cups - i do NOT use the cups the same way as Autumn though. if you ever see the cups in person ,the yellow cup that is used for pasta's or rice or anything that has carbs -is really really small! in fact that cup is 1/2 a cup -i think thats too small of a portion for an adult too use for carbs. i mean i understand that we want to be thinner and do it in less time but the small yellow cup is ridicules. so i use the RED cup to measure my carbs-red is 6 oz and thats not bad -i LOVE doing calorie counting so i can adjust my portions and the numbers. what i DONT understand is the formula she used -she hasnt justified the formula -and THAT is what i was looking for! how did she come to the conclusion of "TAKE YOUR WEIGHT AND MULTIPLY THIS BY 11 -THEN ADD 400 -THEN SUBTRACT 750 "- if she has the guts to write the formula on paper in a books -tell the audience how you came to these numbers. do that and this diet CAN be a GREAT DIET ! great because the formula is way more easier than the other formulas we have so far. when i was younger ,growing up -we had to take our weight -subtract 10 pounds -and that number would be our goal weight - and then we would multiply this goal weight by 10 - so if i was 210 lbs - my goal would be 200 lbs - then i would multiply this by 10 and that would give me the number 2000 -and that was how many calories i would be eating per day . PLUS we had to exercise for 1 full hour. i WISH i could REMEMBER who wrote that diet but i cant ! NOW the diets tell us to look towards our BMR - then once you find your BMR -you take that and multiply it by either 1.2 -OR 1.3 -OR 1.4 OR 1.5 - and something is wrong with these numbers as well . the formula that they use today is decided on what you do "weekly" -not daily-and how would i know how hard i will be exercising tomorrow or the next day ? it should be a daily formulation. and please explain your numbers -so even a REAL DIETICIAN WOULD SMILE AND SAY "YES !!!!! " . i dont think Autumn is a real dietician -so she needs to explain her numbers for us . ( AND YES !!! IM LOSING WEIGHT BY MEASURING OUT MY FOOD AND COUNTING CALORIES ! )

I love your diet, I just wish you had a larger more thorough list of foods under each color container. More than the book provides. There are so many more foods that could be added two lists of the color containers that would make it more enjoyable for customers.

If we're trying to follow a Whole Food Plant Based eating plan (aka vegan), which extra color containers and food types would you recommend we add to our diet to gain the necessary levels of proteins? I'm following the 1200-1499 calorie schedule. Would there be a difference in the number of protein based containers when working out to the 21 DF program versus 21 DF Extreme? Thank you for your help!

In the video on tempeh strips and the one where she uses the tofu for stir fry, she doesn't really advocate changing the containers, because of how the macros work out. Tempeh, tofu, Seiten, and vegan protein powder for the protein. I'm, personally, doubling the carbs and dividing them between lentils and whole grains. Adding protein powder as necessary. I track everything on my fitness pal to make sure the macros still work and that I'm within the calorie budget.

i have a question and i hope someone can answer me - can i fix the caloric formula to fit into my "desired weight " instead of my "current weight" instead ? like if i weigh 200 lbs -my formula should be - 200 X 11 +400-750 =1850 but i want to weigh 190 -so could i just add my desired weight -like - 190 X 11 +400 -750 = 1740 PLUS -what is the "400" part ? i dont understand this number ? and i dont understand the 750 number either ? can the 750 number be lowered ? like 500 instead ? 500 is the number we use to lose 1 pound per week -so did she up that goal to 750 to we lose more weight ? can we change that number too ?

I can't find any info on how juicing fits into this. I have a Breville juicer and I like to juice now and then. I'm not sure how to count the juices! I'll use probably 10 carrots, 2 celery, a huge amount of spinach, onions, etc. Whatever I can get my hands on...and I make a large glass of juice. How does this play into the portion control of fruits and veggies? I bought the 21 day fix a while ago and don't have access to my online resources anymore. HELP!

Chanah-Rivka M measure out your veggies with the portion containers before blending so you know how many servings you have there. Although you are getting the nutrition from the juices vegetables, you lose out on the fiber and fullness eating them whole would give you. No harm in juicing sometimes tho.

@@bethbrightman1326 That couldn't possibly work. I'd get 2 days worth of green containers in 1 or 2 juices. Spinach and kale don't yield a lot of juice, but I use an entire bunch of kale and about 2 bunches of spinach in one juice recipe that yields about 16 oz of juice. That's why I wanted to see how juicing fits. You aren't getting the fiber on purpose so you can consume large amounts of micro nutrients.

Chanah-Rivka M you asked how it fits into the program. The measuring is how it fits. For vegetables they want you to get 3-5 cups a day minimum so you've definitely got that covered. They say if you're still hungry during a day to add more veggie containers because their nutritious and really low calorie so I don't think you really have to worry about veggie juicing. They do limit fruit juicing tho because it's a higher glycemic food source. 100% Fruit juice is listed as a 3x a week treat at a 4 ounce serving equaling 1 purple container. If you add a fruit to your juicing just measure the fruit the same way one would if making a Shakeology or other smoothy. Happy juicing! Hope this helps at all.

winiver77 A bit late but basically you are allowed a certain amount of each container a day. So you can fill (in the lowest bracket) the green container 3 times, the purple one twice, the red one four times, the yellow one twice and the blue and orange once per day. So it's not one of each pet meal or per day but you keep a checklist of how many you are having that day. Some people use coloured bracelets that they take off when they eat one of the containers. There are several calorie brackets that have different allotted container numbers which is all explained in the guide.

Hi Kathy. The containers are for use with the Beachbody portion control fitness courses. If you search online for "21 day fix" which will give you the rundown on how many of each container you eat per day. For example, going off my bodyweight and activity levels I can have 5 Green (veg) 3 purple (fruit) 7 red (protein) 3 yellow (carbs) etc There are containers for healthy fats, nuts & seeds too. This system works amazingly well with the 21 day fix exercise DVD system. The 22 minutes Hard Corps DVD system and Country Heat... Good luck

+Danofstockport Even Plan D, (the highest it goes up to) which is 2,100-2,300 calories per day that is needed to lose weight is 6 protein/red containers. Just curious why you would need 7?

The China Study is a GREAT book! EYE opener when it comes to the scientific evidence from research studies over the past 30-40 years. Dr. Campbell is a wonderful speaker. Highly recommend folks to read this book and watch "Forks over Knives" documentary. I just finished up the Cornell Univ Plant Based Certification class, fantastic program. I'm not vegan but 80% of the way there. No dairy, 2x a week animal meat and no processed foods for a few years. Thank you for posting the question to Autumn!

neither the China study or the Cornell program promote calorie restriction unless those calories are animal products of course but other than that we can eat which is way more sustainable

This meal plan can be completely plant based if you choose. And it doesn't promote calorie restriction, only that each person eat within a certain calorie bracket based on their BMR and, in turn, TDEE.

Hi I need your help, a couple months ago I went on a starvation diet and I lost so much wight I used eat little and exercise a lot after few months of doing that I developed a binge eating disorder and I kept binging for almost 6 month but I recovered with a miracle book called ( brain over binge ) and fasting, I used binge then fast for 12-24 hours and after few weeks of doing that my urges to binge are completely gone but that's not where the problem is, the problem is that my metabolism is completely ruined it stores EVERYTHING I eat even healthy food, I've read few articles but they never agree on one point, and right now I eat 5 small meals within 1200-1500 cal everyday and try to stay away from high glycemic index carbs and workout just the way I used to I'm 17 years old. I used weigh 45 kg but now I weigh 55 kg Am I on the right way or not please give your advice.

aloha sunshine thank you for your suggestion i tried veganism for a while, but i didnt do it for the right purposes which made me relapse once again after recovering for a while, but dont worry i found a way out, i used intuitive eating so now everything is allowed i just pay attention to the serving sizes, no restrictions at all, and i can finally say that i recovered

that is 1 serving depending on your calorie range on the program the green container is 1 cup serving and I eat between 4 to 6 of those green containers per day. I find that is what is working for me.. plus 3 to 5 of the red etc.. it depends on what I eat but with less carbs i'm definitely more full for sure

I was dying on this diet it put me under 1500 calories and I was foggy and certainly wasn't able to complete my workouts being a short girl it always sucks that any workout program tries to starve me.

@@Norahizetta you could try what I did. I'm shopping a variation of Joe Manganiello's diet from his Evolve book, but I've added a few extra fruits and veggies. It's been working really well for me. The real trick for me was boxing up all the bad stuff and getting it out of the house. Anything else and I'm too tempted. I can give you my grocery list if you'd like
