This is truly a tragedy...what sticks in my spirit though is these people's were Christians for 1000 years due to Byzantine influence, then one day their monarchs decided to convert to Islam, within a 100 years the majority were Islamic and they endured one of the worst genocides in history. It makes me truly wonder if they paid such a high price due to their apostasy? Truly a genocide couldn't have taken place without such a nation of brutal and godless people ( Russians) on their borders but still. First of all the circassians didnt "choose turkey" as leaving to the ottoman empire was their only option beside being slaughtered in the caucasus. And regarding the position after reaching turkey, there were circassians on both sides during the wars in turkey. Some circassians like Ethem stood with the nationalist turkish movement and some circassians like Ahmed Anzavur stood with the ottoman side and allied with the british and greek forces. Lastly, if the goal of your comment is to "blame" circassians for turkeys position regarding armenians or greeks. Then there are really other people you should blame first. As circassians also suffered in turkey. The circassian language was banned, circassian last names were switched for turkish ones etc. This video is about the circassian war and genocide, where 90% of our people were either killed or exiled and our lands became fully occupied, we didnt go to turkey because we liked it there, or because we wanted to help the ottomans in their wars.
