Operation mindcrime came out before Empire. I learned that entire album on guitar when it came out. I would play Chris Degarmo's parts along with the entire album. And yes, suite sister Mary is one of the best on the album

Operation Mindcrime came out in 1988. Empire came out in 1990. Queensryche toured in 90/91 to support Empire, but used their recent commercial success with Empire to perform the entire rock opera Operation Mindcrime during that tour, and after played the hits from Empire. They recorded a show and released it as "Operation Livecrime", which is the CD you have there. I personally like the performance of "Livecrime" more than the original studio recording of Mindcrime.

Operation Mindcrime DID come out before Empire. I think you are comparing LiveCrime - the live version of Mindcrime. That one came out a bit later. Love the content and the 80's!!
