I own the 23i sdrive because I want an NA 6 cylinder engine mated with a manual transmission. It’s slower than the 35i but it sounds even better and is even more engaging. Love that car! Great to see someone who really appreciates this model.

I also have a z4 35i and I think it's the best car for the price it has. Finding a flaw in this car is impossible, because it has an exceptional engine, it is convertible, it has rear-wheel drive, an enviable gearbox and breathtaking shapes. I am Italian and in Italy it costs about 1000€ of taxes per year plus it consumes a lot of gasoline and the tires behind do not last long given the high power. If these things are not a big deal then it is the perfect car for a sports car enthusiast who likes to have the wind in his hair.

I have the 35i and I absolutely love it. For 2 reasons you can use it as a daily as it has a hard top and plenty of storage but also because in summer it’s a true roadster. It’s the best of both worlds. I’ve had mine 5 years and do not intend on selling any time soon. Btw I love the spec on yours mines blue with black interior. Keep up the great content.

30i manual with M package here, never gonna sell it ! It surely would be better with 300+ hp, but the NA engine is just special enough. Would have loved to see a Z4 e89 M with S65 engine, there's plenty of room in the front for it !

Maybe I am a bit late to the party as I saw the video now. As a proud owner of an E89 28i M-sport (LCI) with a manual gearbox since late 2017 I may actually have a 22nd reason for you. Maintenance is relatively easy. The engine compartment is big which allows mechanics to service the car without too much effort. I had to do preventive maintenance for the well-known timing chain issue on N20 engines. This maintenance could easily be done without taking out the engine completely. One thing I would strongly recommend is to replace the standard run-flat tyres with some UHP ones. I replaced mine with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s which made the car completely come to life in acceleration and handling...

Agree. The N20 is great (timing chain issues aside), plus with 2 fewer cylinders it opens up the engine bay a lot. Agree on the tires as well. Great car.

Pretty cool huh? Although, I do hear that the new Z4 has a feature where it will half-raise the roof if you hold down the trunk button so you can access all your stuff without putting the roof up which is a bit more practical!

@market_car yes I have a new Z4 I sold my previous model after a test drive. As fine a car as the previous Z4 was this new generation was the new car is a step forward. The boot thing for example the new car is undeniable more practical then the technology in the interior. Also as the previous model is now coming at best ten years old mechanical issues are inevitably starting to creep in. As I said I enjoyed my previous generation Z4 but its simply not in the same league as the new car, saying that it's to be expected for the extra cost

Whichever you prefer. The 7-Speed DCT is fast and quite interesting on its own, but I would assume the manual would be fun to drive.

I have 2011 35is with 103,000 km on it; I love it. but interior built guality not so high. my leather seat stitches got out just in 2000km; İS model fairing misaligned air condition area. amazing car but nor perfect. metal roof button is in terrible place and you need to keep press so annoying. high speed not planted on road as m3 does. other than that my car is so realiable. just dRL bulb changed so far. I love it be in my garage till ı die.No oil leak or engine problems as they clain on internet. maybe ı am just lucky. mp3 can not be repeated in folder so weird.

I’m not sure they still make it since it’s an out-of-production car but the exhaust is a Remus Catback if you can find it somewhere. Best/worst part is: this is not even remotely as loud as this car can get, I can only imagine how it would sound without the muffler. Cheers!
