A little over 50 years ago when I was 18 years old, unknowingly, I grabbed my hairspray to kill a spider with. It killed it! So I discovered that little trick by shear accident! And now I can now use that as a stiffener to apply to my fabric when sewing as needed too. Thanks for the tips!

I’m a color guard director and have performed and danced for 19 years. I’ve used hairspray on my face countless times and never hurt me once. Works like a charm! As for the bugs, I’ve had ants get in my suitcase before and sprayed them with hairspray. Gives them an acid trip and they die quickly. Works great!

Hair spray is great for lice my husband works in a pre kindergarten/kindergarten school and a few years back there was a lice outbreak 😬 and the nurse told him get super hold hairspray and spray in your hair use a lot cause the lice cannot get into your hair the stiffness they can’t grab onto 👍🏻🙌🏻 he never got any

Lice won't go into hair that have any product. Lice like clean hair. Lice also hate tea tree oil.

Always spray flies, bees, and any other flying bugs with a strong hairspray. Their wings get heavy and sticky then they fall to ground. Some times u have to spray them a few times but they slow down and slow down more then drop

Hair spray will also take most ink or magic marker off plastic containers. Lightly spray area of container you want to clean, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then wipe off with paper towel, or soft cloth, then wash ad usual.

This is the first time I haven't agreed with the suggestions---at least, half of 'em, anyway. I would never use hairspray on furniture, or paper, because it makes it sticky; even after drying. If you sit on the couch, for instance, in shorts, and sweat, the water from your body will mix with the hairspray, and get even more sticky, and nasty. I would/have used it on fabric, to remove pen/marker, but you're gonna wash it, afterwards. I've also used it on bugs. The other thing that she said, that concerns me, is keeping it in the car. The contents are under pressure, and could explode, in extreme heat. Remember, when it's hot outside, it's about 20 degrees more, in your car!!! I think it even says, on the side of the can, to not keep at above certain temperatures.

Hi Pam. I've used it for more than 50 years for the ball point ink stain. (rubbing alcohol also works for that too). It even works for sharpie, too, although you may need to do it a few times, then bleach the last of it. Thanks for the other tips. Aerosol hair spray like these are being harder and harder to find these days, so might want to pick up a couple to have on hand.

Hair spray can also be used if you don't have pepper spray. It's a good defense weapon if attacted. But you must aim for the attackers eyes. Keep some near you at all time. The travel size is the best.

I use it in floral arrangements. Stiffens the leaves or petals. You can add glitter. By spraying arrangement 1st. Apply glitter. Give it a light shake to remove extra glitter. Respray with the hair spray. Glitter will stay.

I think it is the alcohol in the hairspray that is getting the mirror clean, stains and markers out. I use 99% isopropyl alcohol for those purposes. Plus alcohol is what gets the stickers off as well.

Good morning you had a lot of good tips. I'm definitely going to try the one that you said to make your art paper a little stiffer. Another good use for hairspray is this I am deathly allergic to bee's and wasp, sometime they like to make their hives close to my apartment. So if you notice you have a bee or wasp nest forming Wait until after the sun goes down and they are resting you not want to do this while they are active during the day because you will get stung, when the sun goes down and they are resting take your hairspray and generously completely spray the nest it will create a hard shell around the nest not letting them get out and will eventually probably by morning smother them and kill the nest.

I keep heavy duty hairspray to spray scorpions. It slowly immobilizes them because they will run towards you. I then dispatch them. You had good ideas.
