This is terrible advice. We are smart with our money (don’t buy a lot of junk, but rather experiences) and teach kids who come into our care how to practice with money. And yes, we treat them like how we would want to be treated if we were in their shoes. We don’t buy fancy name brand things because we don’t buy those things for ourselves. Money will come and go, but you only get one childhood.
