Its certainly a different effect but your experiments are doing great!

When counting out your drops of white, weigh them because weight will factor in the density of the colour. The thinner the paint the more you will need because the density is lower. The thicker the white the higher the density and you will need less. This will help you to correct opaqueness needed to prefect the project. Then you will have correct weights needed to have the desired effects needed for all your different brands of wight. I think that you would love to have a hard and fast number or weight to work with.
