VN24 - Recklinghausen (FW-RE) On Thursday morning (22.08.2019) a fire broke out on the Hochstraße in Recklinghausen at a building complex which also accommodates an indoor playground ( www.kinderwelt-recklinghausen.de ). The Recklinghausen fire brigade was alerted at 10.55 a.m.. Already the first emergency calls spoke of an extended fire in the object, besides an automatic fire alarm of the building concerned arrived at the control center of the district Recklinghausen. To fight the fire, an external attack was carried out using a total of five turntable ladders, several water cannons and manual fire pipes. Currently, the hall complex has partially collapsed and is also being torn down by excavators on site in order to uncover and extinguish last glowing nests.
