@mas lee Did you notice he changed his game today? While I'm not sure if this was a conscious change, or one of happenstance...he came into tonight averaging 2 SOG, and today 7 SOG - two goals to show for it. If he can stay healthy, he'll do fine. Still though, he's already a target, and likely has shadows. I've noticed a few d'bags trying to run him, this year. Not being a fighter, he needs a big brother, or he will be injured. He had 7 SOG tonight, while the closest Wing had 3 SOG. Kaprizov had 5 SOG (most on his team), and the only Minnesota goal. I'm a firm believer in the Law of Averages. Shoot enough, and you will score. The biggest problem is, to be on a line with players who can get the puck to you. --------- One quick story, then I'll stop boring you. You might remember this...Gordie Howe & Wayne Gretzky shared a line in an All-Star game-{Wayne's first} Howe said to Gretzky, "Find a position in front of the net, and I'll get the puck to you". Gordie did, and Wayne scored his first All-Star goal, and the rest is history. Some of my most treasured moments were watching #9 go into a corner with 2-3 opponents, and come out with the puck...followed by the three either getting up, or holding a body part in pain. Gordie Howe was an incredible piece of work, and am I glad he was a Red Wing. That's what I go back to. When Howe retired in 1971, my love for hockey died. Steve Yzerman kicked-in my rebirth as a Wing, and Datsyuk/Zetterberg/Lidstrom kept me here. Since Pavel, this team has the best upside in some years.

@@justplainbrad7713 nice analysis. I think it’s just an adjustment . Last year his line was the only scoring line, now we have more people contributing. And you’re right he’s one of the guys who needs to shoot the puck more. I’m excited for a good win against a playoff caliber team.

I think that's the plan. He's started two in a row so that tells me they trust him more. He'll probably get 50 or so games and Ned will probably get around 30 if Husso keeps this up.

Great night for everyone. 5v5 was really good. I think two penalties including the 4v4. Razor gets 2 on the board to get his season going. Just a really good overall win shutting down one of the highest scoring teams in the league while keeping them to the outside. GG.

@@WestBranchBall To make sure Illinois doesn't spoil things for the Big Ten's Eastern Division, Michigan, as much as it pains me to say it, needs to LOSE TO OHIO STATE. I'm sorry, fellow Wolverines fans, but Ohio State has a better chance of beating Illinois in the Big Ten Championship Game than we do, albeit by a very small margin (A ratio of 20 to 19, in fact... or a meager 5% better chance). As for the CFP, again, Ohio State has a better chance, especially against Georgia (although I'd LOVE to see the Wolverines and Bulldogs in the Championship Game, being as my family is from Georgia while I'm a Michigander, meaning I'd win either way in a Michigan/Georgia matchup [also why my dream World Series matchup is Tigers/Braves].)

This game could've been out of reach for Minnesota. Hoooooso was stellar. The Wings had many more chances. All in all it was a good game, but could be better. Enjoy the win, and move on.
