Good win. Despite him scoring a goal, they did a fairly good job containing Ovechkin. Defense looked shaky at times, but they held firm. And after the first period, Husso was a brick wall. The team is certainly improving, but there's still a lot of the season to go.

I can understand some of the criticism that is being expressed, although many of us fans also forget that he actually missed the start of camp. So give him a little more time and we will have more factual basis to assess as we go along. Personally, his price tag doesn't bother me, as we had plenty of just that in our assets when he was signed. To me, he is more than a warm body

It's been ugly hockey so far to start the season, but with a new coach and lots of new players, and injuries on top of that, it probably has to be ugly. But they've shown potential in every game, and a lot of guys in this game showed some real determination. Those last couple minutes was a great team effort.

And that second goal...... I was at the game. The ref signaled for a goal. The on-ice call WAS a goal. They knew that calling it a goal and then having Washington challenge would mean that Wash would lose their challenge and take a penalty because it was, in fact, a good goal due to Washington's own player knocking Perron into the net. Someone, please explain Raymond's "roughing" penalty lmfao. They didn't want the Wings to have a 5-on-3 so they called both guys. This league's bias against the Wings is inarguable at this point.

So high sticking Husso in the face is "incidental contact" but getting shoved over Kuemper is "interference" and negates a goal. What BS. Also, someone needs to take Ovechtwit to task for his dirty play. He's been at it for YEARS but being the NHLs little golden boy, everyone is afraid of being suspended for decking the little POS.

i am so sad to see the same errors over and over again. the shift from defense to offense simply doesn't work. too many easy turnovers. that will kill the wings again in the long run. a lot of work for the coaches.
