Thank you for putting people in danger. If you have winter tires, they often are tied to a rotational direction due to their profile. So when you change them from front right to rear left you will run them in the wrong direction, which will heat them up due to friction and eventually destroy them. Or at least warn about he rotational direction of tires...

3:25 is not necessarily true. Tire wear depends on your driving habits and which wheels propel the car. Weight distribution can also play a factor. Tire pressure differences front to rear can also make a difference.
@blackwei32992 жыл бұрын
True, but there is also a medium true fact, the traction. If is a rwd drive car, normally, the rear tires wear off a bit faster. But the most important fact is the weight.

The Jack handle on the end Of a ratchet is a good plan for at home but not many people think of carrying a electric drill for every day use....unless your in a profession that would normally be used. Radial tires are always rotated front to back from the same side. Especially now with some tires that have a rotation direction symbol and need to be mounted correctly. I actually warm up my car, when it's cold, so that I can get... Heat
@marshalllhiepler5 жыл бұрын
Don't fret about it. I am a professional mechanic, and I can tell you that the information about warming one's car in cold weather is both wrong, and outdated. It was true with carbureted vehicles, that excess fuel entered the cylinders and could dilute the lubricating oil. But, for decades now, vehicles have been Fuel Injected via computer control, and excessively rich fuel mixtures are a thing of the past. Five to ten minutes of warm-up time (based on ambient temperature) reduces engine wear, and makes a vehicle last longer ... much to the dismay of manufacturers, who want your vehicle to wear quickly so that you will buy a new one sooner.
@mrabbasi94034 жыл бұрын
@@marshalllhiepler here temperature isn't much cold 5 or 10 celcuis.. Do i need to on ignition upto 7 minutes as I always do start and keep on up to 5 to 7 minutes in cold weather then goes office.. Is this wrong way?? 🤔
@marshalllhiepler4 жыл бұрын
@@mrabbasi9403 , It is always best to allow the engine to warm up, before driving your vehicle. The optimum amount of "warm up" time, allows the engine to reach "Operating Temperature" before beginning the drive.

@@marshalllhieplerafter how many minutes I may drive after starting
@marshalllhiepler4 жыл бұрын
@@mrabbasi9403, Between 7 - 10 minutes is average, for modern compact cars. The vehicle consumes just a small amount of fuel during warm-up idle, yet, it saves much wear on the internal engine components.

Not when it's cold are you crazy
@vapecatt5 жыл бұрын
If your engine is still cold do not rev it. I let mine sit for at least 5 minutes before I drive just so the oil can heat up a little. If you rev a cold engine it's just going to wear out the engine.
@mafutineldeyt5 жыл бұрын
I didn't say rev it up as soon as you start it up...leave it to heat a little and after 5 min (time you can spend defreezing the windows or stuff like that) you can occasionally gently press on the acceleration from time to time (if you catch my cold)

dont rotate youre wheels like shown in this video you can change front to back on the same side but if you cross mount them right front to left rear and vice versa you change the rotation of the tire and that will just increase wear , besides that it can cause the cord layers inside the tires to separate from the rubber in extreme cases and some tires with asymetrical profiles have a direction of rotation to start with some even have a inside and outside marked on the tire you can allso leave them where they are , if they wear unevenly (like a sawtooth pattern or heavy wear on the inside or outside of the tire ) have the car aligned and if there uneven bald patches on the tires have the shocks tested if the steering wheel vibrates have the tires balanced , if the steering still vibrates again have the alignment checked if the fronts wear faster than the rears , just replace the fronts once there worn and the rears at a later date , moving the tires around just makes them wear faster and you have to pay to replace all four tires in one go using the spare tire when replacing wheels is a good one , even when not in use tires dry out if you can find the same tire for the other side use the best of the used tires as a spare and safe some cash
