Great vid man, 22-250 is by far one of my favorite hunting rounds, I've taken everything from mule deer and cougars to squirrels with it up here in North Idaho using mostly 53gr Barnes TSX, it's insanely versatile and kinda under-rated honestly, I've had dudes scoff at me when I told them I was taking a 22-250 out for mule deer lol
@TxKiller3 ай бұрын
I’m so glad you’re sharing that here, so many folks have no idea how lethal it is. Stop chasing the latest and greatest and take a look at the cartridges that are tried and true in the field.

@@TxKiller I am now free to go hunting whenever I feel like it. I retired in March and bought a new Rix Thermal L6 from Todd Huey (Huey Outdoors) there in Texas. In this State (Michigan) they closed coyote season from April 15th to July 15th. Never seen anything like it before. Michigan had a bounty on coyotes for years. Money is an EVIL thing. A push from Insurance companies and Large farmers got this passed. Now, the crops are so tall that it's very difficult to see them unless you find a cut hay field. But fall is coming, and then crops come off and the KILLIN' starts.

@TxKiller3 ай бұрын
I haven’t paid attention to the small game but definitely seeing a lot of young deer. It’s a huge cattle operation so the cattle has to be the secret to this.
@hondas5623 ай бұрын
@@TxKillerI’d bet on that, we have a smaller operation and coyotes really stick close to the place. They find the dead pile pretty quick even if we compost the critters. Seems to keep high density around there.

Hard to argue against the 22-250 cartridge. The optic barely moves when firing... So flat and easy to make additional shots with the occasional miss. What kind of velocities are you getting with that rifle and load!!

Environmental squeeze. Without knowing the area, but willing to bet there is substantial building going on in all sides of the ranch you're hunting. The yotes react with more pups when getting squeezed in a wildlife area even though the amount of wilderness is decreasing substantially in every direction. Contrary to what makes sense, yotes go exactly opposite that of animals in general.
