This was a false prophet who rose among the Banu Hanifah tribe, which lived in Yamamah during the time of the Prophet. He was the ruler of his tribe. He did not deny Prophet Muhammad but claimed prophethood for himself, claiming that he too received revelation, which was bits and pieces, with no connectivity, no theme, indeed, gibberish; when asked when he received them he replied that he received them in extremely dark nights; otherwise he prayed, and ordered the adhan said in Islamic manner, although, some reports say he introduced the words, “Musaylamah is the Messenger of God.” Lets find out more about him in this lecture.
