It's kinda sad that in the non-canon volume "Vampire Princess of the Lost Country", Ainz actually sort of has the happiness he seeks. Basically, he wasn't teleported with Nazarick, and meets Evileye. The two become good friends and travel the world together, even forming a new Ainz Ooal Gown with new guildmates and going on numerous adventures. Ainz isn't a king, nor is he "Ainz" or even "Momonga", he's Suzuki Satoru. No acts, no high expectations, just a friendly undead. He's not depressed about his old guild but actually creates a new guild and new bonds.

It's why his duel with Shalltear was so dangerous. She is build for PVP while Ainz just loved to role play as an elder lich with vast knowledge about magic spells. If it wasn't for all of his prep work, strategy, cash shop items and knowledge about Shalltear and her exact build he likely would have died. Other guild members like Touch Me, Takemikazuchi or Ulbert Alain Odle were way stronger than Ainz.

Yeah.. He is extremely good player using meme RP build. Most of his spells didnt work on other players, just npc's. However after getting transported to new world, he was buffed because everyone count as npc.

He build his character to fit the theme of a skeletal overlord that summons the undead and not to be the best/strongest summoner build in the game

Mages in every mmorpg has been a staple in the mid tier, specially in pvp scenes. This is because of tgeir softer build thag no matter what they do, they dont fare too well on 1 in 1 pvp. Hp-wise. Ainz would die easily against buujin takemikazuchi, though if lord takemikazuchi is a bit slow he can get wittle down by spells. BUT if its touch me, then ainz dies no matter. From all of the mmo ive played that have become popular here in the philippibes, only a handful of magr builds ever reached meta. Only because in the lattwr age of early mmo, theyve adapted the pay to win aspects we know today. Back in the day, in ragnarok online, youll be hard press to not see an asura strike champion dominating pvp. In my experience, paladins have been added to party only to tank, mages to kill mobs, and that one monk that always steals the mvp kill to the raid boss

The attack potency of the sword isnt anything impressive. But its ability to bypass YGGDRASIL's rule that nullifies low level attacks on high level players is what catches Ainz' interest. Its not that the sword itself held much importance, Ainz stopped it one-handed. But it hints at a power that defies or overrides YGGDRASIL's logic.

Overlord is the anime that cuts the most stories from its LN

All 4 seasons use up to vol 14 with season 4 skipping vol 12 and 13 (The Holy Kingdom War), and instead putting them into the movie. Right now the novel has 17 volumes, 16 volumes for EN release. So, no new season for a couple years at least. You should read the novel. Anime cuts so much details and lore. Many times that the whole volume was cut into just one episode.
