Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. kzbin.infoUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

Great side by side comparison. Thanks! I just got a 54 inch John Deere snow blower for my 2025R. I was disappointed to see it has a plastic impeller but encouraged by one of your commenters who said he has had no problem with his. Time will tell, winter is getting close :). That said I was pleased to see mine came with a gear box instead of a gear/chain set up like is shown in your video.

your "gearbox" isn't a gearbox, just an enclosed chain case. Gearbox would reverse the rotation. The john deere "parallel drive" is an enclosed oil bath chaincase and I would guess the Kubota is the same. Easy way to tell is rotate the PTO input and see if the impeller spins the same way or the opposite way.

First time seeing a good comparison of these blowers. Kubota has definitely done it right with their blower. That smile on your face when coming behind the Deere while you were launching the snow down through the yard told the tell. Good video!

I've had my JD with the 54 inch blower for 2 winters doing 2 driveways. Mine is over 300 feet long. The impeller doesn't throw the snow as far as I'd want but it's fine. I was skeptical about the plastic impeller but it's been holding up. Not too much damage to it. Only other thing I'd change is the chute will only go left or right at about 90 degrees from the front. Would be nice if it it could throw snow back abit when you get to the road.

I have a JD322 dedicated for snow removal with a 47 inches snowblower, but the older heavy duty one commonly called the "Chest Freezer". You can do a mode to have the chute turn almost 270 deg by using double pulleys. Did it on mine and works great. Look it up... Videos on KZbin and also on Tractor forum. Cheers ⛄❄🌨🏔🏂

I had a JD 47 inch with the plastic impeller, then went to a JD 59 inch with a steel impeller. The 47 actually blew better then the 59. I thought the plastic was a joke too,I am a farmer and used it in all conditions including ice chunks and good sized rocks that got in the way. I never had a problem.

Excellent video, I really enjoyed the comparison because you don't always see them so close side by side. I wonder if those additional arms in the JD blower are counter weights to lessen vibration. The Kubota blower also has the snow disperser inside the shoot to break up chunks or wet heavy snow.

This is a good video but the John Deere had a fresh path of undisturbed snow while the Kubota was rolling over the area next to it that had 2 tire tracks thereby making this comparison unequal. I have no doubt that if you could have created equal conditions for both blowers the performance of the Kubota would have more obviously exceeded that of the Deere. This has also been my personal experience with these units. The design of the Kubota is far more desirable than that of the JD in a whole variety of ways. This is coming from a guy with decades of farming & ranching owning and operating many, many JD tractors and a variety of blowers types. This snowblower design that JD now offers is an embarrassment to their otherwise good name. The John Deere salesman will sometimes say, "No little boy dreams of growing up and owning an orange tractor." But definitely an orange snowblower for me :)

It’s not even close the Kubota blower is built stronger and throws substantially further than the Deere. The biggest difference and almost most important is the auger is serrated! I’ve cut through ice chunks the city plow left in the driveway easily with the Kubota. It turned the ice chunks to ice dust. The Deere I had just flung them around in the auger housing and who puts a plastic impeller on a heavy duty blower?

I`ve owned green all my life, but JD wanted ALL our green out of our pockets. We said, not this time JD. We went with Kubota and saved a ton of money. Plus when we got our BX23s, they threw in the 60" mowing deck for free because Kubota was running a special deal when we got ours. And we got ZERO percent financing. Of course its all paid off now. We aren`t sorry for buying Kubota. It has been 100% trouble free since 2017 when we bought it. We still love it as much as the day we bought it brand new. Looks like we`ll be orange for awhile, lol.

All it’s needed was oil changes and tires, filters. The John deere is a beautiful machine, but the BX has so many little pros that they add up, and the machine is cheaper. It’s a no brainer

I think the problem with plastic is you really want the momentum of impeller to store energy and help you power through load variations. I tend to believe more impeller blades is better for a couple reasons. One is Ariens, way back in they day when 4 blades was standard for everyone, went up to 6 blades on their big units. Also, when you look at large industrial blowers, some of them are packed tight with blades.

I have a 2017 BX23S with a BX2816 50" snowblower. When I purchased the dealer did not have any snowblowers and I wasn't given any options other than manual, electric or hydraulic chute and rotation controls. My snowblower has a chain drive. After four years of use I've had zero problems with it and I love my snowblower. The K Connect system is pretty slick and easy to setup. The JD 1023R may have better loader lift capacity, a tighter turn radius, and that really nice drive over deck but I think the Kubota BX has a superior snowblower. I also use a Land Pride rear blade. I started with an RB0560 blade but traded it in after a season for the RB0548. I was annoyed with the 60" blade knocking snow from the sides of of the snow bank that I had just cleared with the 50" snowblower. Initially I thought I would want the 60" rear blade to make up for the width when the blade was angled. As it turns out I usually leave my blade straight for cleaning around the garage doors and when cleaning up after the blower I just make a few extra passes. The blade with the snowblower is really a nice setup.

Nice video! I have the J.D. 54" on a 1025R, love it! No problem with the plastic impeller on mine. One thing about Kubota is the depth of the auger housing is deeper i think, so they can clean out more snow. My JD will dribble around the side if too much snow is being thrown. Were the Kubota doesn't seem to do that. Truth be told I like the Kubota snowblower better but love the JD tractor much more. They both are a good product though.

Tim from Canada suggestions when you were ploughing out your driveway why would you throw the snow a crossed the driveway next to the guy ploughing with you.. you need to turn the auger funnel the other way.. why would you blow snow on the guy next to you

I have the John Deere 47 inch. I used to own a Kubota 51 inch. The Kubota was better. These John Deere blowers are thrown together without any tolerances. It's almost impossible to keep the correct tension on the drive chain. The bearings in the mount also like to go out. The driveshaft angles are bad. Forget about installing the driveshaft once that blower is installed. It won''t fit. Too long. I like my 1023 John Deere tractor, but those blowers are junk.

💥 Great comparison! 👍 My vote goes to the Kubota, a plastic impeller, really! *Keep on tractoring!*
@boomer1049
@boomer1049 2 жыл бұрын
The idea of a plastic impeller is on gravel driveways when you get rocks caught in between the propeller and the housing it destroy your housing with the steal propeller. The poly one won't do that. Bottom line is once you wear holes in the fan housing your snowblower is ready for boot hill!

The appearance of the Kubota is sleek and sporty like Japanese cars, but then again, Japanese power equipment usually is. I had a Honda HT3813 tractor that looked like a Honda car from its time period and even sounded like one due to the inline twin liquid cooled engine.

Your side by side of the blowers in action speaks volumes. Plastic impellers, chain drive, cable set up for chute rotation,,,,I have the same blower, it does not compare to the RadTech. If JD thinks they are #1, then replace this cheap blower with the Frontier branded RadTech. The 1025r is a great tractor, no argument there. Just up the quality on the blower. Lord knows we pay a hefty premium now for all things green. Thanks again for this video.
@OrangeismyNewGreen
@OrangeismyNewGreen 3 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you 1025R is a very good tractor but the premium they charge...you would expect better, they probably make more $$ on the yellow snowblower than if they pushed the RADtech 🤷🏼‍♂️, thanks for watching and have a good week.

It kind of reminds me of Japanese cars vs American cars starting back in the 1970s. After 20 years of listening to Lee Iacocca telling us how the Americans had finally caught up, but knowing it was a lie, I swore I'd never buy an American car again.

Hey, I'm looking to pickup a JD and I've been trying to decide between the 590 or 739. The 590 I think will do the job sufficiently but the drive over deck, and PTO driven mow deck and snowblower and 4wd drive would be pretty great to have.

I was having the same issue with the quick couplers on my BX2680 when my plow was attached. While looking over the couplers, I noticed that on each coupler, the notch in the locking collar was in-line with the steel ball that protrudes from the side of female coupler body. I then removed each coupler, wiped down the male and female surfaces, and reconnected each hydraulic line. I then turned each of locking collar, so that the notch was no longer lined up with the steel ball. Not sure if this actually fixed my problem, but they haven't leaked since.

Here’s my thoughts. I believe JD has a steel impeller to replace the plastic one now. Don’t know if it’s 3 or 4 blade thou. Your didn’t mention the diameter of the impellers. All thou they looked about the same size. The JD blower was pushing snow out the front, and the kubota was not. So the kubota impeller was taking the snow away from the auger better than the JD. And throwing farther. Kubota looked to be better built. But, I would gladly take either one to call my own. Both will move the snow away.
