I put together my own dedicated 22lr ar pistols a few years ago. Using the cmmg bolt, barrel, black dog mags. That thing runs great, ton of fun. Even more fun with my new DA mask on !!!

This is a very good idea. The M4 WMR AR style weapon. I have the Rossi semiautomatic WMR. It is a very good and accurate yet affordable WMR.

I pack an old Marlin model 783, bolt action, tube fed 22 Mag that belonged to my dad. I'd like to have one of these AR platform 22 WMR, and put dad's rifle away for safe keeping. If money were no object, a .17 WSM in the same configuration made by Franklin Armory would be the ultimate. Few people talk about the WSM, only the more common HMR. I had a B-Mag in the .17 WSM, for a rimfire, the speed and energy is insane. And the bullet drop is impressive as well. Sorry for the rambling off topic nonsense😂 nice rifle, thanks for introducing it to us

the cut in the rear of the bolt carrier usually doesnt line up with the trip ao im guessing not. cmmg sells an auto trip for their 22lr available on optics planet that will make bonaeies and frts and auto sears work

Just get a BCA 22 MAG upper, mine is 100% reliable with every ammo I have tested!!! Like $250 with a couple of mags. The BCA upper is surprisingly accurate too, around an inch groups at 100 as accurate as my Henrey 22 mag Lever action if not better! My only issue is it will not cycle subsonic with a suppressor. The last round hold open is controlled by the magazine so the bolt slams shut when you remove the mag. BCA gets a bad wrap but I have a few of their uppers all 100% reliable, maybe I have just been lucky .

Interesting. I wouldn’t think BCA would be any good. Had one of their “Glocks” come through the shop and it was rough. Wouldn’t cycle at all.

I got a BCA stainless barrel 22 mag upper also. Same story with mine, reliable, super accurate and runs with normal AR lower with stock AR buffer and spring.

@Fishhawk357 I think mine came with a special spring and buffer, I haven't tried the stock AR buffer. Does your setup cycle subsonic ammo/ suppressed, just curious?

There is a company in the U.K. called guncraft that has been making .22 HMR for years now and it’s a very good quality AR

BCA has had one for years. Never fired it. Probably doesn't run very well, but they have had one. 17HMR as well

My friends and I shoot soda cans at 200 yards with .22LR bolt actions… .22WMR would be silly….like the LR is at 100, sort of just wasting time and ammo cause you’re not really learning anything or pushing yourself. Soooo it makes me wonder how far out .22wmr can realistically be expected to hit a soda cans? yards?
