Loaf Bloke well im not talking shit, and they are strong, but compared to powerlifter and strongman competitors they are kinda weak, because strength is not the goal for them, a great body is, they have diet, and different training, basically the goal of bodybuilding isnt strength its looks, but they are strong i wish i could lift as much as these dudes

you are correct. bodybuilding is a specialized "sport" that is (now) based on muscle sculpting rather than strength or toughness. they're definitely STRONGER than your average couch potato but not as strong as an average powerlifter. what fools you is powerlifters look like what we consider to be fat

Looks like most people talking s**t about the bodybuilder have never stepped inside a gym. Steroids or not, what he's done is crazy. 58 reps of 225 on the bench is insane, whichever way you look at it.
@BigMuddyCountry
@BigMuddyCountry 7 жыл бұрын
I hate reading people talking about using steroids. Steroids are not a get muscle quick drug, if you take it and do nothing you get fat or at the best stay the same. You still gotta put in the work, juice just makes you recover much quicker. But yeah 58 reps at 225 is nuts, I do widow maker leg presses and usually load up the leg press with around that weight and usually only manage 50 to 75 reps, given I do 3 to 5 sets at those reps but still.
@chazgomez8976
@chazgomez8976 6 жыл бұрын
The recovery period is where the body builds muscle though. Steroids are a personal choice but this is a play on words that has become prevalent since those Netflix steroid documentaries hit over the last few years. A natural lifter will never see the potential they could if they had utilized a steroid cycle. This encompasses both how fast they gain size as well as overall peak lifting numbers. Hell, once my wife and I have our child, I will likely cycle with test, so I am not opposed to supplements but let's be real here.

@gatorbuilt
@gatorbuilt 6 жыл бұрын
Huh? First off it's ANABOLIC ANDROGENIC STEROIDS(AAS)...that means that they are a steroid suspension of male hormones(androgenic) and are anabolic(cell building) and SPECIFICALLY promotes HYPERTROPHY which is making a cell LARGER much like blowing up a balloon...next, it has EVERYTHING to do with the (daily)DOSAGE that directly affects the SIZE to which you make that cell grow and hence in the case of AAS's the SIZE of muscle cells...in the case of bodybuilders it is ridiculously large and is known as SUPERHYPERTROPHY. This should not be confused with HYPERPLASIA which is creating MORE numerous cells, which is what HGH does...so bodybuilders tend to combine SUPER HYPERTROPHIC dosages of steroids(AAS) to increase the SIZE of their muscle cells and SUPER HYPERPLASIAC dosages of HGH to increase the number of those cells...throw in some insulin to 'force feed' the protein(from food) to give adequate 'materials' to the cells and you have a pretty big and strong person.

1. There's no chance that you increased your bench from 100 to 295 in a year. 2. If you really could bench 225 for 25 reps, your max would be way more than 295.
@KalElKentPhoto
@KalElKentPhoto 5 ай бұрын
@@tjcogger1974What I said was a true and factual statement. I do remember using the Smith machine once I hit 225 lbs for safety, as well as being looked at like some sort of genetic freak as I climbed up the ladder with the amount of weight I was pressing. My goal was to hit 330 lbs (my body weight) for 20 reps by the end of a year for my lifelong personal best. I don’t know if periodic moments in my life of weight training for about 20+ years before this helped me, but it was very sporadic for a couple of months at a time at best. Plus genetically I probably had an upper hand being physically stronger naturally than my peers while growing up. Even now if it wasn’t for all my health issues I’d likely do well if I were able to focus on training again. Have a good day! 👋

Impressive benches. Body builders generally focus more on upper body than football players and utilize more aggressive diets . So it does not surprise me that the bodybuilder won. I suppose that in football you'll find a lot of big squatters and power cleaners especially among linemen and linebackers. Matchups like this in MMA are usually very interesting too.

Great work by both guys. Regardless of any comparisons, comments, etc., it was still an impressive display from Terron and Joel. For all of the negative comments, I would LOVE to see any of you try and rep even half! It would be hilarious to ask the people claiming “steroids”, “gear” and so on to actually explain what it is, does, how it works and so on. A good 90% of those folks only know the word “steroids” but have ZERO clue what any of it definitively means. Once these trolls actually post a video of them benching the same weight for the same amount of reps, then I’ll retract any comment. Hell, most of those trash talkers would be lucky to pull off 3.9 push-ups! 😂

samsonpker If you knew anything about benching, you would know that not fully extending puts more work on your muscles. You do not get the rest time of locking your elbows in, these are called half reps and are used to train. So I can see why you think that, but he is putting more strain on his muscles. Not to mention both of them did not fully extend making it fair. Now in PR/WR maxes and what not, you are expected to fully lock it out showing that you can do a full extended motion.
@221BBaker
@221BBaker 7 жыл бұрын
Ur not taking into account the breaks that u get when u lock ur elbows, ur no longer using ur muscle when u lock and ur muscles (even though it is slight) will get a rest period and over 58 reps those small restings will add up. With half reps ur muscles don't get that same rest its constant work. I can definitely see the commonsense argument though, and you would be right if it weren't for so many reps extending fully might do more.

Not for a guy sticking a needle in his ass quit turning a blind eye to this there are young males watching reading this they may think that if they work hard enough they can be that big. What in the hell is wrong with this every responsible adult should not be condoning what this guy did he is a bodybuilder. Kids bodybuilding has turned a blind eye to HGH test and horse drugs in their sport. Mr. O for the last 40 years is juiced you do not get that big. They cycle on and off they go to other countries to train wink wink. This is not a man to look up to get off this channel and it is hard but look up natural bodybuilding if they have it. The reason I am so upset is when I was a young cop I had been lifting weight for football for years. One of my friends started working out with me and was getting upset that I was lifting heavier and bigger and I told him it takes time. I knew a guy that own a supplement shop and he would give cops a discount and I knew he was on the juice but he lived outside the city. I introduced my friend to him knowing that he was on juice never thinking that my friend would try taking it but he I noticed he caught me and went right on by me. I asked him what are you taking and he told me I warned him that shit will catch up with your ass when you get older. Well he had a stroke on a traffic stop and almost died. It would of never happened if I did not send him to the wolves den.

it's not a trend it's a powerlifting technique mostly girls use so they don't have to bring. The bar to the chest just saying then there's the wuss guys that use it too.

yea same here my best was 225 for 19 and a 350 bench for a max @220bw. try a closer grip or arch your upper back to keep your shoulders healthy.

Locking out isn’t really necessary if your doing high reps

Ideally you want to go just short of locking out. Locking out gives you a chance to rest. When you go just short you are keeping constant tension
