There are way more safty ways to dismantel a bullet than using 2 pliers by rimfire

Good morning and thanks for stopping by the channel Kenny 🇧🇪🇲🇹 . I would say certainly one finds or can come up with alternatives to dismantle .22LR or similar rounds but my experience so far with the way I perform such task has been nothing but positive. I had at some point discussed such idea with some old timers at the shooting club and it appeared to me that the majority used this exact way to dispose of unfired .22lr. Anything larger is another story as you can see on the channel for anything else, up to the .50BMG dismantling I go for other methods. In any case, needless to say that dismantling ammo is at no way advised, can/is a very dangerous affair and should only be done, if needed under proper supervision, by professionals and in line with applicable laws and regulations. If you ever get a chance, take a look at Winchester M22, I had bad experience with leading in 3 different guns, so bad a cleaning rod wouldn't go down bore in less than 200 rounds,with visible lead coming out of all muzzles and deposits on breech faces, got my blood lead level checked afterward and it was 31! I think I breathed in lead vapors, not just the propellant gas. Talked to their customer support, returned directly to factory, but never heard back. Wish I had kept some as now I'm thinking the diameter was too small letting gasses vaporize it ? I know they had a recall in 2014 for possible double charge but this was a recent lot. Anyway just a thought, I enjoy all your stuff(but not a knife guy, maybe later though!)

Hi John. The M22 has been unavailable for year here. Personally I think it was never available. Basically all ammo from USA has been out of stock since late 2020. Very few are available and only because it is old stock. What I have is and empty box of 50pc, T22 from the last available batch. Not the same as the M22 I know. The EAN code is 322022000013 and the serial Number is 2DLM41. the serial number indicates that it was produced 14-Nov-2018. on the M22, I did not here any complaints here. Awesome breakdown brother! I have a few boxes of Norma’s but not sure if it’s the same. Only 22s I’ve had trouble with were the 32grn Federals. Nice job and I enjoyed this one 😊👍👍👏

Good afternoon and thanks for stopping by L.V. It has been a year since your last comment and I see that still dismantling 1 singular round is not something you like. For this particular brand I have a test coming up next week whereby I fire ten rounds and test the velocity and accuracy. In addition I am also working on a penetration test that will also include this round. I hope you can get some value from the coming clips. Take care and have a great day.

@@ReloadingMoreAD1966 There is this craze of sorting .22LR by weight for more precision / accuracy. I tried it and IT DOES NOT WORK. I also tried sorting by rim thickness, once. I am still not sure that works and will test it again. For tests like that I am shooting 100 meter. As for the weight sorting, I then saw a video where the person weighed the empty brass after shooting it. The difference in weight of the whole cartridge is the same as the difference in weight of the empty brass. I checked and that is so, the brass differs 1 grain, the same difference of the whole cartridge. That is why I say to analyse only one cartridge means nothing if you don't compare it. It does not tell you anything about the consistency of manufacturing and for that matter what to expect about precision on target.
