One of the main reasons for the subsonic ammo for accuracy argument is due to the destabilization that occurs when the projectile drops subsonic while in flight. If you start above, you can't reach very far before velocity drops, but if you start below, the transonic barrier is not a limiting factor.

I did this test out of my Winchester a couple years ago with these rounds and a few extra. The best I was able to find from my rifle was actually CCI standard velocity ( one of the cheapest I could find at the time ). My grandfather used to compete in BR50 competitions ( .22lr bench rest at 50 yards ) and he taught me a few things that helped me get the tightest groups I can from my little old .22. @Floyd Dwayne Viernum sure. Keep in mind, in his class, they were allowed to use bags both front and rear. So he told me the name of the game was to impart as little touch to the rifle as possible. So, setup the sandbags as well as you can. Then, instead of wrapping your trigger hand around the rifle, put your index finger on the trigger, and put your thumb on the rear of the trigger gard, then squeeze the two together to fire the round, instead of having your whole hand, plus your forearm possibly influencing the shot. This also helps guarantee that you are pulling the trigger straight back, and no side to side is brought in like can happen when you have your whole hand around the gun. He also says you want the best glass you can possibly get, in his words "you should be able to count the hairs on a fly's ass at 50 yards".

Those Blazers fly under the radar! I have said it for several years now, but those cheap blazer bulk boxes are one of the best off the shelf loads you can get for a 22. All of my guns shoot fantastic with them and I have never had a single one misfire or jam due to the ammo. They are made by CCI, so they are definitely nothing to snooze on

@MrBoostin18 no, not at all. Initially, I was concerned this may happen because they are not plated with anything, but I can say that after hundreds if not thousands of rounds in at least 4 different guns, I have seen no difference to any other common ammo

Interesting. Good stuff. Most all CCI rimfire has prove very accurate for decades for our family. Typically very consistent. Mini-Mag are great. Velocitor are surprisingly very accurate. Thanks.

I’ve actually struggled to group CCIs in my couple rigs. My best groups have been with subsonics, but I’ve some higher quality supers I need to test still. I like the subs a lot though, because they are so stinking quiet!

My old Remington 597 likes the 36 gr Golden bullet and the CCI Mini mag 36gr. It shoots both very well.

Nice test. That barrel did warm up good. Well you blazer is what you rifle likes the best. I test like that with all my .22lr. you just have to fine what they like best.

That Bergara is a sweet rifle. Hadn't seen many Blazer's before but after looking them up, I was surprised to see they're made by CCI....cool, gonna get some for my .17 hmr. I like the consistency of those on target!

I grew up shooting Blazer but I can't get it locally anymore after moving away. That was THE go-to .22 in all my 22s. Only Federal Automatch at the walmart now- fortunately been good enough and at least its always available.

Blazer is made by CCI. Which is known for great .22 LR ammo. And their other caliber ammo runs great too. I have shot a lot of their 9mm ammo.

WTW, great video as always. Just an fyi. I just purchased a Bergara BMR with a carbon fiber wrapped barrel. I shot the Remington Golden Bullets, and at 50 yards I was able to shoot spent 22 casings out of a piece of cardboard. I had to work with the action screws, and adjust torque till it liked them. again, just an fyi

Great test! That's a nice rifle. Interesting that the Remington bucket did as well. I used to use it and it was fairly accurate, especially for the money, but my autos are finickey. They all ran with CCI mini mags.

I've gotten incredibly good groups at 200 yards with some fifteen year-old Winchester SuperX Power Points and CCI Velocitors from a CZ 452. The newer Power Points have grouped only so-so for me (occasional flyers), and I haven't had the opportunity to try any new Velocitors. Wish I could find some Blazer, but none of our shops seem to be able to get it in...

Believe it or not the 40 grain Blazer shoots the best in my Henry also. Cheap 4 power scope at 50 yards shooting mt shotgun shells off the target stand.

WTW l like to use my photocopier to print out targets that way they are all the same and you can overlay them to mark out the exact spot to check out the variation , but as always another great video 👍

Got the BMR carbon... unfortunately so far I haven't found any good grouping high velocity ammo. My old trusty MiniMags group at 2+ inches at 50y whereas my CZ puts them through the same hole. Velocitors are a bit better but still not great... Same for ELEY high velocity. Not great. CCI Standard Velocity grouping nicely though. Bit disappointed overall.

CCI is what shoots best for us great upload 3 clicks on that scope to the right or left might be backwards cause the camera but either way it’ll be money I know your just doing a group test

Ive seen where folks been using tuners on these and getting .16 groups at 100 yds with match ammo. I bet ur whisper pickle was probably helping with barrel harmonics a little. Groups would probably open up some with no can.

Most of the time I would agree about sub sonics being better, however my savage mk2 try-sr shoot cci AR better than any of my rifles shoot anything I’ve tried, including a Christenson arms with gold medal match and my BMR with match
