@chasedooley62372 ай бұрын
@@bizzzzzzle sure that’s the ideal. But logistics win wars, and the cost of ammo matters. I have other obligations to pay. I can’t afford to sink as much money as it would cost to run 380 as much as I run 9. 22 ammo is so cheap, I could run as much 380 as I’ve ever bought in my life in a day, and still have more for tomorrow and the next, and still have enough 9 for regular practice. That stuff makes the difference
@Clipazine3 ай бұрын
It's too bad companies aren't interested in making guns in .25 ACP anymore. Would be cool for something like this and more reliable with the centerfire primers and the more shallow rim. Sure it's way more expensive than .22LR, but if we're talking about self defense rather than plinking or hunting I think it makes sense.

@Jim-oo7dk2 ай бұрын
Its obvious to everyone but them. I think they do it on purpose. This is a PT22 with cosmetic changes and one more round. As fat as that grip is there is no way they couldn't have made it a double stack and 13 rounds.
@Paelorian2 ай бұрын
Until recently, I would have strongly agreed that there was a niche for a modern defensive .25 ACP pistol. But I've seen gel tests of even the best, deepest penetrating .25 ammo underpenetrate. That includes 60gr hardcast lead Buffalo Bore, so there's really not much room for improvement (unless perhaps a new .25 was specifically designed for overpressure rounds). Now the hardcast lead and high-velocity FMJs can sometimes penetrate adequately and do in most tests, but they don't do so consistently. The fact is, the Kel-Tec P-32, which is lighter and smaller than any .25 ACP ever made and yet still has low recoil (since it's not direct blowback like other pocket pistols but locked-breech like a modern full-size pistol) proves that .32 ACP, with far superior ballistics to the .25, is the better option for self-defense. I still wouldn't mind an even smaller .25, but it would have to be about the size of a NAA Mini-Revolver and compete in that niche. And even then, Federal Punch .22LR may still be a deeper penetrator than any .25 ACP round. But .32 ACP has about double the muzzle energy of .22LR or .25 ACP and just about any .32 ACP round (to include cheap FMJ) will penetrate adequately. For a possible slight step up in terminal effect, Underwood loads Lehigh Xtreme Defenders in .32 ACP. Less penetration than a hot FMJ load, but still meets the standard of more than 12" in gel, and does more damage to gel blocks at least. I'd be very happy to see a modernized .32, something like a scaled-down S&W Bodyguard 2.0. It would be up to the user to carefully load the double-stack mags, but if the manufacturer is worried about liability for rimlock then they could sell the pistol with a loading tool included in the box, the use of which will make it almost impossible to improperly stack the cartridges. .380s have gotten smaller, but with the tiniest, lightest guns they have too much recoil for my most shooters. And often a concealment situation calls for the smallest, lightest gun over a more effective larger weapon. Despite the high popularity of .380s and improvements to .380 pistols, there's definitely still a significant place in the market for small pocket pistols: .32s, .25s, and .22s. I believe in carrying all the time when possible, and tiny guns make it possible to conceal even while wearing swimwear. Manufacturers shouldn't neglect the "bikini carry" part of the market that demands tiny pistols. North American Arms sells ridiculously old-fashioned single-action revolvers that are still the best weapons of their size and therefore they've been successfully running a factory in the USA building them for decades. People usually prefer backup guns and deep concealment guns to be very small.

@cdlund28403 ай бұрын
Not to be contrary but if you're staging a trigger you need to learn to shoot a DA trigger better. Staging is a sign you don't know how to shoot a heavy trigger. One smooth continuous motion is what works. Staging means stopping and reacquiring the sights which would be foolish and time consuming in self defense. A firm grip and a continuous pull is how to keep the sights on target not staging.

Howdy. Nice review. Thanks. While it is nice to know that this little belly gun will hit a target out at 20 yards, that isn't why I am interested in one. I think that guns like this one are meant for "up close and personal" self defense. A get-the-heck-off-of-me type last resort weapon. Since the weapon has a hinged and therefore a partially fixed barrel, as well as a slide that doesn't seem to extend very close to the end of the barrel, I would assume that it could be fired in contact with an actual attacker without being forced out of battery. Maybe you could put some old clothing over your gel block and try that out. My Beretta Tomcat in .32 is of a similar design and it has a threaded barrel allowing me toI put a small birdcage flash suppressor on it for just such emergencies. I don't like that there is no extractor in the event you get a dud round. Not the easiest thing to clear under stress with the tip up barrel.
@Zzero57282 ай бұрын
For an unfired round I believe the tip up barrel will fling the unfired round out even if the rim was struck. A fired round, the case will likely need picked out… I’ll have to see, I got one on the way to play with. Seems like a fun 22 with a couple practical applications and the price was right…

Seems like no one subbed to channel has ever heard of a ruger lcp 22 and I love my tx22 but or less this us is under 250 no way id buy it over the Ruger
@frugalsoul99842 ай бұрын
My personal problem with the lcp 22 is a manual safety. I prefer my carry guns without. Edit: and yes you can get the tx 22 without a manual safety

Barrel release latch is in a bad spot & angle, looks like a definite candidate to be accidentally actuated with the right hand thumb and/or the left thumb as a two handed grip is obtained.

Huge miss by making it 9+1... should be at least 14+... also unnecessarily fat grip AGAIN like the tx22c (should be way thinner)
@juliettkilo77963 ай бұрын
The recoil arms and springs are under the grip panels, hence the thickness and lack of a double stack mag.

@@juliettkilo7796 yep a huge miss like i said... no one wants a thick 10rd pocket 22... they want an LCPmax 22lr w 15+ rds if thats going to be the thickness. The LCP2 22lr kills this thing (and tandemkross mags 14+1 mag bumpers)

Instead of comparing it to giant 22 revolvers why don't you compare it to a Ruger LCP 22 because I have one of those and that holds 10 plus one and if the Ruger LCP 22 is smaller and lighter then there's really no point for this thing also the Ruger LCP22 is single action with a safety
