I have owned Ego products for the last 10 years. Generally have been all good. Recently though I purchased some new additions. My battery died within a year and a half. Ego replaced. Replacement battery died 2 years later, Ego said so sorry it's not under warranty anymore. Repair facility i took my string trimmer to said they are going to stop carrying the brand because they are constantly breaking. Seems reliability has gone down and the battery is 75% of the cost. I wouldn't invest in a product needing multiple batteries when they are constantly failing. Buyer beware.

I haven’t had to exercise any warranties but the batteries if you register them on the app are 3 years and the tool has a 5 year limited warranty. Did they claim you didn’t register the batteries and therefore wouldn’t uphold the warranty?
@gregcolin94886 ай бұрын
@@IGmeanwell no they claimed the replacement battery doesn't carry another 3 year warranty. Only whatever was left of the first battery's warranty.

I have had (3) seasons of the Z6. So far one of my battery’s died under warranty after two years and replacement was quick. In the last couple of weeks it would not start. I checked each of four batteries with Ego single battery charger to make sure they were still charged. They were. So… it might be a firmware upgrade that I did not see flashing to me on (Display). This upgrade can be performed with Ego App and Bluetooth on phone but you have to have (Display) lit with light touch of ignition. It’s in warranty shop now! Z6 can drive up a 45 degree hill with no problems. In terms of batteries life. I found that if you charge the batteries after a full cutting. It is best to pop the release on each battery in the tray while storing because if you leave the batteries in connected position then there will be a 5-10% battery drain. Finally, when Lowe’s delivered the Z-6 to my home initially the (speed) was set on rabbit (fastest speed) which I trained on scary! The Lowe’s driver said be careful this thing will kill you. I finally figured out the speed was adequate between turtle and rabbit for flats or hills and saves battery power to boot. I love it! It’s quiet, efficient and charges cellphone and super comfy seat. Obviously its not cheap but a pleasure to ride. Hope this info helps someone out! EV is the way to go we just need to hope and see this technology is evolving. I purposely chose a two engine hybrid car and get about 40mpg city waiting for the ideal EV.

I have this mower and have for 3 years now. I can also feel that one side has more power and one of my batteries has the same issue.

I am on my third cutting season with my Z6. My right side tires have a lot of air pressure changes, when it loses pressure it will pull. I thought that the bars were the issue so I went into the setup menu to calibrate the bars to compensate but it turned out the tire pressure was a greater issue. I have noticed a slight reduction in run time. However it’s been solid for me, I also use it for proper utility as well. I will say the blades are pretty soft steel and I feel like I am sharpening them more often than my previous mower. However I’m still very happy with it though I could use two more 10 or 12 ah batteries just to reach all of my property mowing in one charge.
@marcelluswiggins77976 ай бұрын
@IGmeanwell I will try that. Do you have the tire pressures off hand?

@@marcelluswiggins7797 the rears are supposed to be at 8 and the fronts 32. However the rear tires are pretty squirrelly at that psi and so with hills I run 4psi on the rear and 16-20 on the fronts, it helps immensely on the hills but does cut into runtime. Edit: mixed up fronts and rears

I just came across your video; you can adjust the sensitivity of the bars through the software; it tells you how to do it in the manual that came with your mower.

What if those batteries get replaced with an electric car, Prius, battery. Would probably last longer and provide longer run time. Then the mower can simply plug in like a regular EV.

Max side hill angle for this is around 14 or 15 degrees. Kind of a catch 22. You slip down the hill sideways with a zero turn, but a Tractor style rider will tip over at about the same angle. That's why I am still stuck using a walk behind mower. A stand on commercial mower is the answer, but they start around $9000 and go up to near $20,000. You just made my decision to stay away from battery power.
@IGmeanwell6 ай бұрын
For the record my front yard is 25 degrees at its steepest angle. I have found that it’s perfectly stable with some compensation at 16 degrees but after that I mow diagonally up the hill or straight up then around to the flatter side and go back around at the steepest areas. I have used a couple commercial mowers on the yard and while they are more stable in general the Z6 handles the hills about the same probably due to lower center of gravity.

After doing too many hours of research, your review has pretty much scared me enough to not spend my money on an electric mower yet. It's too expensive and other stuff will eventually break.

Ego sent a place to pick mine up for loose wire,/lcd code. About 27hrs in that happened. My hrs are reset since the repair. Same mower model as yours. The blades do tend to get overloaded with clumps of grass from time to time. I have to keep in mind I went from 1hr mowing to 30 minutes with this. Which may be why I get more random overloads on the blade motors. I do think gas has an advantage with a motor & shaft ran to pulleys that build momentum to keep it going, although I still stalled the gas from time to time.

How long will it last? How about just tear open the battery and look at the cell oem datasheet. It's li-ion so likely 300-500 recharge cycles to ~60% capacity.
@4thewinak6 ай бұрын
Unless you’re using it for commercial applications and charging the battery couple times a day, most batteries will just fail due to stress or calendar aging.
