Just did this conversion on my '23 WT. What a difference! Especially the interior lights, which make it much easier on these old eyes! I wasn't sure about the plate lights at first, why make it easier for LEOs. But they just make the rear look so clean and modern over the yellow halogens. Even more so with a white truck. Can't wait to check out the back up lights at night. Ya know having a tinted rear window is nice and all that but it does cause some problems at night. I'm old school and don't trust the on board camera. Thanks for this very helpful video. Dare I say watching this made the install a snap?

nice video . I used the blue for my interiere from lastfit along with the bed lights. and it sucks that the switchbacks do not work on the z71 but they do on the trail boss. due to the front turing sig is only a single function connector where the trail boss is a duel . Only down side is i was told by the dealer and GM that if there any electic recalls or issues then you have to take out all the lights and go back to stock for the warranty to be honored.

Thank you and ya that's true but only to a certain point. Like if the recall was on the headlight I wouldn't be removing all of my interior led lights since they are on a different circuit. If there is a recall just worry about that dedicated circuit. And tlya that does stink about the switchbacks not working on the z71.

Thanks for the tip for getting the interior bulbs out with a small pick or flat head screwdriver. Gave up on getting them out because of how tight they are lol. Will have them replaced now!! Any idea of what led bulbs for that taillights and rear turn signals?

No problem. Glad I could help. The rear brake lights and blinkers are 7443 but I've tried a couple with no success. A couple of people have had some success but I'm waiting until I know which one will work for sure.

So this is the second time I have tried to replace the rear dome lights but without success. I feel like there is a short in the dome itself because I keep getting slight smoke like the capacitors are blowing on these LED bulbs. When I see you do it, it doesn't look all that complicated but apparently I'm doing something wrong. 🤔

Hello again, Tony Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I think we spoke before about changing the lights. I thought the plug sockets were different from the Halogen to the Led's bulbs.? This is pretty much plug and play. With no wire work or changing of plugs? Did you find any real difference in the power. I don't want over load the circuit. Again thank you 😊

Thank you and ya it's all plug and play. It's only more involved when your switching out an oem led with an aftermarket led. Any time you go from halogen to led, the manufactures designed these to replace factory halogen lights so it's very easy. As far as power these actually run much lower then the factory halogen bulbs so no worries on that 👍

Hey no problem. Mine is the rev trifold from gm. Basically the same thing as the bakflip mx4 I believe. But you can find tri folds very similar to them for much cheaper.

I have the ZR2 and the front interior lighting is a split cover with a push on and off. After I changed the lights out and putting the covers back on the clicker inside came off. How do I drop the housing for the lights to put it put that part back together?

For anyone else that made the same mistake, you just slide your trim tool onto the middle of the two long sides of the housing, and pry. Do so carefully or youlll break the clips that hold the light control switch in place.

Hey Tony, do your lights flicker when the truck auto starts? Any idea how to fix this? I dont like my lights flashing at people when im just at a stoplight lol

Ya lol mine does the same i always try to shut that auto start off, you would have to put some capacitors in line with the wiring harness unfortunately

For the bulbs at 5:35, can you pull the bulb straight down to remove without using a tool?

I did notice you had a Trail Boss logo on your dash and red trims for the vents. Where did you find those? Looks cool and I need something to break up all the dark plastic!

The vent trim looks real sweet. I'm seriously considering getting them for my z71. Saw in the reviews for them there are 2 pairs of slightly different sizes

Yes indeed. If I remember correctly you will use the 2 that are larger. You will be able to tell when you hold them up to the vent

For the white plastic piece at 2:30, do you use a trim tool to remove it?

You don't need to remove the white plastic piece you can access them without removing it

Having issues with the back ones. I can reach them with my hands but they will not budge. what's the best way to get behind the bulb and get out? I have tried a small straight screwdriver but I feel like I am going to break the bulbs 😕

Make sure you are prying them the correct direction if that's not working maybe try a pair of slip joint pliers with electrical tape wrapped around the jaws. And just make sure not to squeeze to hard
