The russian army is slowly landing itself in a similar situation to what made Germany fail to match to Moscow during WWII, strained supply lines, fighting against an enemy that has plenty of space to maneuver defensively and temporarly give ground at extreme costs to the attacker.

Th biggest difference you see between the 2 sides is Ukraine uses solid tactics and maneuvers to best attack and defend their own troops. Russia is taking ground by attrition and just sacrificing their own soldiers to take very little ground. The morale on the Russian side must be horrible.

@@orgonxs Pokrovsk is 65 km from Avdivka. The latter town was conquered by the russians in february 2024, if I´m not mistaken. In any case, it was somewhere in the beginning of 2024. Now it´s january 2025, and they still haven´t advanced the 65 km to Pokrovsk. That´s a snails advance, and if they continuer to advance in this tempo it will take decades before they have conquered the whole of Ukraine. Long before that, a financial meltdown will hit the russian economic system, making it impossible to go on financing the war. Putin is doomed. He has to look out for Novochuk, open windows and hired gun men.
