You spotted a gem at Westbury-On-Seven, Patrick, detached towers are unusual, and ones with a spire on top, even more so. It is a broached spire (with the pyramids at it's corners), very interesting, even in a weather-affected walk, you made a lovely film, thanks, Patrick.

I've not been to Minsterworth. pity about the wet weather for you which seems mixed at present. Minsterworth looks a nice place to visit, and what a lovely cliff walk along the river Severn. Your Atmospheric music had an interesting effective piano riff. - We are National Trust members too but they do vary days when open.

Lovely video, shame it was wet. But we live in all weathers . Our town has three churches in one graveyard, only two stand today and are joined together by an intersecting passageway, all that remains of the third church are some of the old walls it is said that this church burnt down by an unattended candle. Churches carry so much history. Thank you Patrick. Looking forward to see what you have up your sleeve for the next! ❤️xx

Hello Patrick , nice one some lovely views around the river Severn we used to always go to see the Severn bore at Gloucester just before where the rive split. Another church you might like to go and see with a spire added later to the one side is in Ledbury just at the top of Church Lane right by the old market place . Thank you Patrick.

That didn't look like a nice day to be out but the trimmers did a grand job. I never realized how wide the Severn is in places. I've walked along a tidal river in Preston. It rose ten feet in minutes very dangerous. The church from certain angles still looks connected to the steeple. Its certainly unique. Some lovely villages along the way and you did well filming at all. Hope you got your half. Cheers Patrick
@solitaryrambler4 ай бұрын
It was a lovely smell of freshly cut grass during the rain. The Severn just widens quickly, so I guess that's how the bore comes along. I didn't realise Westbury church had a detached steeple until I walked right up to it as it looks connected from the main road. I always try to make something out of my filming when the weather isn't so good, so I'm glad I managed to produce a decent video from this. Thanks as always Kelly for watching and commenting 👍

Just a pity about the weather, Patrick, but it has still been an interesting video. The church of St. Peter's at Minsterworth is a building of great construction, with lovely architecture both inside and outside. That's very interesting concerning the Severn Bore and the difference in height variation between low and high tides. It is such a fantastic view looking across to the other headland, so wide is the river, at Strand. At Westbury, the St Mary, St Peter and St Paul Church is a most stunning place, with having the tower/spire separate from the main building. Many thanks, Patrick, hope you have better weather for the rest of that week.

Thanks Ffranc, pleased you enjoyed the video. I tried to make the most of the day despite the rain, so it wasn't all bad. The Severn Bore is amazing, I still hope to see it one day. I just love the way the river widens so quickly as you travel downstream. I've never seen a church with its spire detached from the main building before so it was great to see. The weather did improve after that day thankfully 👍

That's the day I will be travelling back home afterwards, so that would really suit me, but if you'd prefer another day that should be fine too. I'll have my camcorder with me anyway, so if you're agreeable, it would be great to film you talking a little about your Wye Explorer channel after our coffee? I'll leave that thought with you Mark and hope to catch up with you next week then. All the best 👍
