What’s up guys and welcome back to the channel and today’s video we begin rebuilding the 2022 ram 2500 that was crashed in the right rear corner and needs a new frame section. We acquired an entire frame section from a friend and begin by stripping away all the parts and wires to expose the bare frame. The frame is sectioned from the factory in multiple spots and we will be using one of the sections towards the back of the cab to cut in our new frame end. The goal for this video is to have the frame cut in half and ready for the donor part to be installed.

theyre using thinner guage steel and tempering them at the factory. any new weld zones will compromise the tempering creating a very weak spot.

@@jasonh8470 Not carrying out the frame repair and just replacing the whole frame front to back would always be an option but it would mean taking the truck off the road for a long time , removing cab, engine, suspension and wiring looms, vin plate etc etc. (probably three to four times the price of this repair). - I don’t think Yuri’s shop would want to do that type of work as they need to keep their repair vehicles rolling and mobile around the shop whenever possible as it has a lot of shared facilities and tooling for several vehicles to be worked on each day and stored out in the front yard when not.

3:21 Please add braces to the legs on your jack stands. Either wrap 1" flat bar around all 3 legs or put a piece of plate steel on or near the bottom to prevent twisting or side loading the legs. I know you have the 4th center support leg but nothing is preventing them from twisting or spreading apart at all. Also maybe weld 'hallndles on the adjusting nuts so you can turn them under load without a wrench. Other than that i like them & you'll be really happy being able to fine adjust them with the screw threads. As for the politics you guys know who is better and what will be better for all of us!👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧🔩⛓️📐🗜️🤔 ✊🏻🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲✊🏻

Your jacks are very strong. For the future and if you trust the strength of your weld. I'd always recommend a 3 legged jack over 4 as where I work, the ground is never perfectly leveled. A 4 legged jack would wobble on a ground that isn't perfectly flat.

@@fernandolanas the customer wanted it sectioned and luck for me one of my clients had the rear section and gave it to me for a good deal, this puts money in my pocket instead of the wrecking yards. Don't have to refill AC or coolant as well as transmission fluid and not to mention didn't have to bleed the brakes.

Yes, when you have a car repair channel, keep the politics, religion (or lack thereof), sexuality, or other personal things in your life to yourself. You will always alienate someone, and the common thread of everyone here is to watch you do good work on vehicles.

Could you not cut or separate the frame at the factory joints . The frames are done by jigs or computer at the factory so if you measured the original all you would have to do is transfer the marks on to the replacement and weld . It is a lot more work to cut or grind out the factory welds but the job would have looked much more professional . Also maybe get a licensed welder to weld on the frame not the person who made the studs ! Guess I should have watched the whole video I did the frame on my older ford at the joints and thought you were just going to cut and join it.

you are lucky you don't live in my state, there is no welding, or cutting of a frame that did not come from the factory, the number of lift blocks is one with a maximum of seven inches, and the frame of a vehicle can't be over twenty-four inches off the ground measured in the middle, they also have a height on bumpers and headlights, also parts used on street vehicles need to be DOT approved, so my suggestion to anyone modifying a vehicle is to see what the laws are for their state before they do something that gets their vehicle impounded forever
