Hello dear, I just happened to see your video. It is wonderful. I lost everything in a tornado and at 71 it’s hard to remember all that I had accumulated. This was perfect. I’m gearing up to offer free sewing classes to low income mothers (or fathers). God has truly blessed me and I want to share. Thank you so much for these pointers.

All BERNINA’s love schmetz needles just as much as they love coats and guttermann threads. Magnetic pin dishes are fantastic and also a telescopic magnets to help pick up pins I may drop on the floor. Large ziplock freezer food bags are brilliant to keep all of the notions I need for each project together. such a great post for anyone that loves to sew 🥰🤗
@crystalsewsandstuff3 жыл бұрын
Yes, my Bernina loves those Shmetz needles, I tried the Klasse and it hated it. I think those are best for Babylocks and Brothers. I use magnetic pincushions all the time and they are a lifesaver. I definitely want to get one of those telescopic magnets too. I remember my sewing teaching using one to pick up all the pins after class. Thanks for watching today. Happy Sewing!

Pressing is such an important part of sewing. Thanks for sharing those tools and showing how to use them! For me, sewing is not about saving money...it is an expensive hobby...it is about having clothes that fit me, which is so hard to find with ready-made clothes. Enjoyed this video.

Hi Crystal. I recently made a tailor's ham and sausage set. Wool was too expensive so I used a medium weight canvas for the outside fabric. Been wanting a tailor's ham for many, many years but didn't want to shell out the money. I found several KZbin videos on how to make a pattern and the ham and sausages, so I finally went for it. A huge bag of pet pine bedding was around $7. So very, very please with how easy they were to make and how well they came out!!! Thank you for letting everyone know about theses items, and especially the ham holder - something I've never heard of but will look into I could really use one or maybe I could even make a wooden one.... hmmm. 😀 🌷

Tailers sausage and clapper are used for sleeves and cuffs also as well as ham in everyday ironing. I made mine using wool and cotton and over an inner lining of muslin stuffed with sand. I also have a tailors kidney. That belonged to my Mom so it's just for show. But I remember my Mom ironing my Dad's military uniform using all 4. She also ironed and starched all her fabric after washing before sewing. She said it made it easier to control the fabric in the machine. And to keep it aligned.

You're welcome. I'm currently using a Chi Titanium Ceramic Iron 1700 Watts. I've had it a few years now and enjoy it. I eventually want to get a gravity feed iron as well. Thanks for watching!

@@crystalsewsandstuff I wish you can tell us how to clean the iron after we ruined it with interfacing. Does the pressing cloth also protect your iron
