24 Countries Ditch US Dollar: What is Next?

Countries and regional groups are increasingly moving away from using the US dollar for trade. They are doing this to reduce their dependence on the dollar and to use a mix of different currencies instead. This change is part of a trend called de-dollarization. It aims to lower geopolitical risks and boost local economies by using their own currencies more. This shift is changing how international trade and finance work and could change the importance of the US dollar in the global economy.
In this video, we explore the countries that have partially or fully moved away from using the US dollar. We discuss their motivations and provide related information on their economic strategies. Additionally, we examine the de-dollarization efforts within the BRICS+ bloc, highlighting the significant steps taken by these nations to diversify their currency use in international trade.

Maybe seems good on the surface, such as a pristine lake with no waves, but diving head first into something is a gamble, no? I mean, obviously anger to get off something your upset with, could result in something that brings further unknowns , as potential rule changes , or possible security risks and bring stranded without any guarantee of recovering. It would be unfortunate for such decisions to be made first before understanding any future changes that could impact deeper than the current status quo. I understand the new trends and current fashions but I would personally rather have , a 1967 ford mustang , rather than a 2024 electric vehicle. I don’t know if you’d understand analogy, but my preference would be to have something proven stable, easy to fix and not have the unknown future problems with something I’m not sure is the best.

All are matters of fact, why should the world have to pay what amounts to royalty to the USA by having to trade in dollars. When this dollar became the global reserve most countries were hijacked and didn't have a voice in this economic decision. Let the West keep the dollar and allow the Global South or the BRICS to set their own currency reserve for goods and services.

The intresting part is the future, I don't think countries are going to be able to recover there currencies like the dollar will. This economic stability is determined by trade. I'll assume that if we remove energy dependent restrictions on trade, like finish the pipe to Canada, becoming energy independent, and just pumping up trade will maintain a strong USD. They can leave the USD behind to boost there own currencies. That is fine. But the USD as a hole isn't going to just go away. Just too much trade. Just the United States keep electing officials that was to kill a USD and convert to the digital market or the cbcd. Which is colonialism to say the least, total control on how you spend your money is a crazy concept. What happen to freedom? Glad WEF is going to hopefully get dismantled. This isn't economic freedom. Good luck.

I see some under-educated people cheer for that. No matter how wealthy or how poor your country is, it needs a foreign exchange rate to deal with foreign countries. And the USD had been a benchmark and an international settlement currency for nearly a hundred year. There can be respective FX rate between two diff currencies, but when it comes to international settlement and FX market, yen and rubles are never and won't be major currency pair.
