Nothing like walking in a cool house after a long day. Get the stove going. It puts you to sleep like a baby. Love wood heat

I love your stove ... when I get my camper I am puting a wood stove in it ... grew up in Missouri and that’s how my Grandma heated the house with a wood stove

Sounds like great memories with Grandma! What part of Missouri? We go through there often. Have a blessed day!

Nice review of the Jotul, Josh. They are great stoves. We use about the same amount of wood in our Jotul 3. I guess that isn't too bad for a slightly larger and very drafty old house!

Your getting fresh air :) pretty cool report on the jotul 3

Nice stove! I almost bought one of those stoves years ago but went with the smaller 602. It was a tad small so I switched it out for the Jotul F45. I like to mostly burn my stove with about an 8 hour reload schedule. When reloading I’ll rake all the coals forward then fill the stove full or maybe 3/4 full, let it burn wide open til my flue temp is up in the good range then shut her down. The stove top temp will settle in around 500-600 degrees for a few hours then slowly fall to about 200-300 by the time I’m ready to reload. So basically I do my reloads once in the morning, afternoon and then before bed. Warmer weather I can get away with a 12 hour reload schedule. This stove can hold coals a long time. How’s your chimney look when you sweep?

@@wobdeehomestead I try to burn good seasoned hardwood. I usually clean before season, then again in mid winter. Not much at all usually

I have my fireplace going right now but it's just set into the wall. Wish it was a stove though since I'd get longer burns with it. Thanks for the video brother

Nice, sounds like you could maybe do a wood insert in the fireplace. We had one in our last home. That was pretty good heat as well.

@Icutmetal We love Northern Michigan. We don't mind some winter but we are ready for spring too :)

Nice little stove. Does it have a fresh air supply just for the stove. Years ago I used a wood furnace for all my heat in a 1000 sq ft house it took about 20 face cord a winter for all my heat.
@adventurerhoades7 ай бұрын
Just straight pipe up through the roof. We burn when we are home. Probably about 60-70 percent of winter. Works great for this house & our schedules. Sounded like a pretty good system you had too.
