Thank goodness that KZbin took this chance to explain to me all about climate change! And how, by virtue of Simply existing, Richmond north of Richmond have determined that my existence warrants a huge tax in order to save the planet! I just love how money can fix anything in this industrious world we all live in!

Cody, for what it’s worth, if you do use a parallel post hole boring auger, it will likely glaze any hole (especially with clay in it), blocking the tree’s ability to penetrate into the surrounding earth. After having this experience, and 90% death rate, I discovered a conical auger, specifically designed to minimise this. Happy planting from Autumnal New Zealand.

Cody, I'm so envious of your tree planting project, but in my opinion, you should move those cedars back a bit from the river bank. I'm afraid that erosion and or a large melt off might cause the bank to eventually collapse and you'll lose those trees.?

By planting close to the creek he will hold the banks in and it from eroding.
@totallynotdelinquent59338 ай бұрын
@@gregporter4766 that only works if the trees are established in the soil. when it's that close to the bank, it's too wet and weak to establish a proper root system. without bank supports, the trees will likely fail to thrive and die before they do anything.

We made a stand for our auger. Two 4x4 post buried and concreted with a hole drilled through each that line up with the tallest hole in the auger. We back it up shove a piece of rebar through it and it holds it just fine. If I could do one thing different it would be to get the post as close together as you can and still fit everything. Because it makes your rebar or steel rod stronger. Take the measurement while its on your tractor in the raised position. So when you take the weight off, it's easy to disconnect.

The best way to plant a tree is to dig a wide shallow hole, spread the roots put radially, and fill it in only up to the root flare of the planted tree. Best if you can mulch, as well. More details necessary to donit properly. 95% of a trees health is determined on the day it was planted.
