Located on the South West Mainline, North of Southampton and 73 miles South of London Waterloo. This Hampshire town is home to the historic Eastleigh Works, now Arlington Fleet Services and a large mass of freight and marshalling yards. Featuring mostly container traffic to the local Southampton Docks, local spotters flock to the three platforms for views of rare and interesting workings commonly happening around the station.
This special episode shows an unabridged 24 hour period (through two attempts) around this busy South of England spot.
Part 1 includes:
- Class 69004 leads FL locos
- Class 33 Cromptons on tour
- Freightliner Class 59's on quarry traffic
- Black 5 Sherwood Forester and 47593 working very hard

A great video. lived in Eastleigh for just over 30years so this brought back some great and not so great memories. Glad you survived the weather. Wetherspoons just across the road from the station nice and handy.

I remember doing silly things like that in the late 80's...... a Barnetby overnighter with 3 of us in a Ford Escort watching triple headed tractors on the iron ore coming through at silly hours in the morning. I'm far too old for that now so well done you for doing that stint.

You made the right call. Eastleigh is a special location. I would say come midweek in the summer for best results. Unusually Saturdays at Eastleigh can produce results upto around lunchtime. I think you should think about making this an annual event but in the summer. Still you got some great footage. Loved it.
