24 hours in Canada's World Famous Wine Country: Kelowna, British Columbia // Nat and Max

Kelowna Britsh Columbia is known for its award-winning vineyards, orchards, and wineries in Canada and internationally. In today's Okanagan BC travel series, we'll be spending 24 hours in Canada’s world-famous wine country and explore how this place makes its popular wines.
Our day started with a visit to Farming Karma with 40 hectares of apple and cherry orchard. These fruit-growing experts had a brilliant idea to come up with fruit sodas using all-natural ingredients, with no added sugar or sweetener. We were lucky to try out their tasting menu where we got to taste a variety of Karma fruit sodas and ended up bringing home two boxes.
We then shift our taste buds to get to know why Kelowna is Canada's world-famous wine country. We booked a "Behind Closed Doors" wine tasting tour from one of the most popular wine estates in Kelowna, Mission Hill Family Estates Winery. After a quick tour around the place, our guide took us to where the magic happens, the Cellar. The cellar lies under Mt Boucherie, a remnant of an extinct volcano. So aside from their vines benefiting from the rich soil of Mt Boucherie, the underground cellar in Mt Boucherie also serves as a natural cocoon and humidity control for their barrels. This place is so amazing!
After having some refreshments, we then head to another farm to meet some furry friends, the Kangaroo Creek Farm. And yes, there are kangaroos in the heart of the province’s Okanagan wine country! These kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, and more are all rescued and we're happy that they found a home in Kelowna BC.
