Michelin Star Standards in Europe are definitely as high as in the US, if not higher. It is where the guide is from. It is just as Jet said some restaurants are really pretentious.

i wonder if in croatia since there arent as many people thus not as many fine dining establishments if that in turns makes it so the bar isnt as high due to there not being as much competition. Maybe a place that would get a michellin star there wouldnt get one if it was in canada for example. Just a thought
