"24 Hours" (Pilot) Deleted Scenes | ER

Enjoy three scenes filmed for "24 Hours", the pilot episode of ER, that were cut from the final version of the episode.
- Dr. Greene and Mrs. Kosinski - This scene was originally supposed to immediately follow Dr. Greene's visit with Dr. Harris at his private practice.
- Dr. Lewis and Paul - This scene took place after the short conversation between Benton and the x-ray technician Steve. It features Paul, Susan Lewis' boyfriend who is not seen in the final episode but who is briefly mentioned in a conversation between her and Dr. Greene.
- Dr. Lewis Goes To Sleep - At the end of the episode, we see both Drs. Greene and Benton go to sleep at the end of their shifts. This scene of Dr. Lewis doing the same was meant to accompany them. Listen closely and you can hear director Rod Holcomb tell actress Sherry Stringfield to turn off the light.

That scene of Susan going to sleep at the end was very touching because you see the impact Carol's suicide attempt had on her as she's almost about to break down -- finally able to, really.

When Sherry Stringfield has long hair she looks very much like Kellie Martin. You can sort of see it here but in season 10 her hair was straight and down past her shoulders and there were some scenes where it was almost like Lucy Knight had come back from the dead.

The pilot episode is already 90 minutes long, unfortunately some scenes needed to be cut to fit the episode into a two-hour slot on TV including commercials.
