That sucked! Talk about diminishing any sort of supply you had!

@Abigail05193 ай бұрын
Do you mind me asking why? I was curious when I saw the video. Do you know if the pain is from the milk supply coming in quickly or does everything just really hurt after delivery?
@latorw3 ай бұрын
@@Abigail0519 it’s actually because the baby nursing is causing your uterus to contract and the theory is the more babies you have your body knows what to do so the “contractions” are more intense trying to shrink your uterus back to size more rapidly. Ibuprofen did help a lot I just had to make sure my nurse brought it EVERY 6 hours on the dot while I was in the hospital lol
@kittawa3 ай бұрын
@@Abigail0519I'm not who you asked but I also dealt with terrible afterpains. It's because the hormones that are triggering your body to create milk also cause your uterus to contract to try and get it back to its pre-pregnancy size. The more often it has been at full size and back down the harder it has to work to get back down, so you basically have contractions when you nurse because it triggers oxytocin and it freaking huuuuuuurts. I was almost more scared for afterpains after my third baby than I was for labor. I couldn't keep down water while nursing after my second (for about 2 days after birth).

@@kittawa oh wow. Thank you for letting me know! Crazy how the body works sometimes 😬

The reason why it’s worse and worse after each baby is because your body remembers what to do, so then when you trigger that hormone by breastfeeding then your body is like “ope, yep, let’s go!” 🤍

This is the part I honestly miss the most, about both of my pregnancies. The post partum period in the hospital. It was just surreal. You finally have your baby. And the hospital food menu (which for me was pretty great, NGL). There were obviously challenges, like going to the bathroom as you mentioned. But it's the only time in your life when you go through this and it is such a short time. There's the smell of the baby and the scented diapers they provide. If I wasn't pushing 40, I would've had more than 2 children. It's so insanely worth it. I wish you all the best mama.

Congratulations darling! You will have so many people saying breast feeding shouldn't hurt. Her mouth is small and she's learning. Your nips are soft, unused to such... use. Just a tiny (not so tiny) tip, for the breastfeeding pain😢: In the Nursing Your Baby book, I followed after suffering with the latching/ all the other symptoms that came from a baby sucking so hard, you swear you gave birth to something otherworldly; it really pays off to pre-condition the nipples starting at the 6 months mark while pregnant! You don’t have to suffer if doing the pre-conditioning, which is simply using a soft baby wash cloth (a dry one), and rubbing the nipples twice a day, as they get ‘tougher’, you get a more abrasive washcloth, and by the time you’re ready to give birth, it’s soooo much easier and better! Sorry for the long explanation, but it made my second child’s breastfeeding experience a real dream 🎉I seriously considered stopping breastfeeding with my first babe, but am glad I didn’t… so many benefits to mom and baby, including the uterus shrinking and keeping the hormones that make you feel happy going strong!

It might cause irritation, discourage you from breastfeeding, or give the baby colics. You can contact breast feeding consultant and they'll give you some tips. Speaking from personal experience.

One of the best tips I have ever learned.. the letdown is really painful. It feels like two weights that drop from your clavicle.. and they drop down and squeeze out your nip ples.. it hurts. So do this. Prepare ice water before you do a feeding.. lots of ice.. when you drink that when you start getting that pain. Your brain goes whoa cold water. And let me tell you.. around 3 months you'll finally get over that pain.. yeah it takes a little bit. Please get the silver covers for you know what.. you'll never have an infection you'll never have a problem.. make sure you put a pad over top of them because if you're out and about and a baby cries you're going to have milk everywhere. But that ice water trick was amazing.. many moms give up because of that pain. Power through it. You can do it.
