Ours weren’t as advanced as this one tho and only had one key that we had to stick in the baby’s back and physically turn it until it stopped. I had it for 2 days during the school week and I’m not ashamed to say that I slept on the floor in my mom’s room so she could help me take care of it overnight. 😂 One of the mornings I remember being so tired that neither one of us realized that I still had my pajamas on and we had to turn around and drive back home to change so I wouldn’t break dress code, which made me late🙃

When my twins were around 3 weeks old I was once so sleep deprived I thought I fell asleep holding one and some how got trapped in my pillow. A small corner of my brain was saying “No that’s just crazy. The babies are fine asleep in their cribs.” The other part of my brain ripped open a feather pillow. My mom came over to help out and there were feathers everywhere. She laughed as I was trying to pick up all the feathers by hand. She took them for a walk in the stroller and I vacuumed the feathers. Then I pumped for 30 minutes and took a short nap. Newborn stage was rough.

In highschool I took a parenting class and we had to take one of these home for the weekend. The one we used had a sensor in the lips, so you actually had a bottle to feed it with, and you have to physically pat the baby on the back for it to burp. It's head could fall back if you didn't support it properly all the time, which would make it scream like crazy. There were some sort of motion sensors in it, so you literally have to rock and bounce it to calm down if the head fell back. Luckily it only happened to me once 😅 It was actually kind of fun lol

Wow, definitely a different "Baby Think-it-Over" than what I had in high school. My sister had the original that was just one key you turned in the back & had to hold in place until it made the cooing sound... murder on her wrists, but she got it down. I had the more 'advanced' model: a touch-key sensor in the back for attention, a bottle sensor that when it touched baby's lips baby would make a suckling sound... a motion sensor in the back that could tell when you burped/bounced/rocked baby, a diaper sensor in 2 diapers so that you could actually change baby's diaper (it even knew if you put a new diaper on vs the same diaper from before), a sensor in the neck in case the head tilt back too far, & in the abdomen if you laid baby down on its stomach for too long... AND baby made different sounds for different things- one to coo, one to cry when it was hungry or needed changing, a completely different cry for when baby was fussy & just needed attention, the feeding sound & a totally different coo when you successfully changed baby's diaper! Certainly made me think more about wanting kids for the longest time... & managed to get me prepared more for when I ACTUALLY had kids.

Newborns don't walk, run, "need" things as toddlers do. You can easily move them around and most of the time they sleep in any surrounding. Breastfeeding is convenient as a meal on the go. When children get older they need to sleep in their bed. When they start to walk it is harder to go anywhere with them as they try to run away. Not every child can eat anything in restaurant. Children are hard exhausting work.

My baby as a newborn: Eats, sleeps, poops, falls asleep anywhere and was relatively quiet. My baby as a 9 month old: screams at the top of her lungs because she doesn't want to be where ever she is and if we're at a table will rip everything off of it. Also cry inconsolably at "strangers" in groups more than 3.

The neck could actually bend and if it went to far back the baby would cry. I got 2 diapers with chips that connected to a spot on the baby so you actually had to change the diaper and the doll could tell if you put the same diaper back on. Doll had a bottle that the doll had sensors for. It had sensors to register if your rocking the baby and that was a way to soothe the baby sometime when it cried. Was a lot more work then this doll Kelsey got but still a good challenge and so fun to watch you try this. I learned a lot from That doll and experience I had in middle school.

Sitting on couch with baby and dog watching cocomelon. Basically my life. Also thank you so much for not playing the cocomelon music. I know it was for copyright reasons but I'm glad my 2 year old didn't come running in yelling "coco!"

On a side note, when you have a real newborn they make noises all the time. Awake, asleep, and at night even when they do sleep... they make noises so it is super hard to sleep even if they are not crying because sometimes breathing sounds like choking( sleep deprivation for the win)

Yep and you're scared they're going to stop breathing and hormones are going crazy. When people told me "nap when the baby naps" I wanted to punch them in the face lol

I think if Kelsey ever decided to have kids, she'll be a fun and amazing mom💙 This challenge is interesting too!! (Will you make a video about babysitting children in near future though?)

When I did this in school you had to do a key, just so it knew you were there but then you had to physically change the diaper, hold a bottle to it’s mouth and there was no panic key. We had to go in public and document how people reacted to us as teen parents. Ours also would cry just to be held, if their head wasn’t supported or if it was too hot or cold - there was a blizzard and the heat didn’t work. Also, random students would be assigned a baby with issues like babies with drug addictions or disabilities that would cry more often. We had to use a car seat and could only have a babysitter if we had an extra curricular after school. We had them all week at school and would have to take care of them during class. Then we had a weekend, but that’s when the blizzard happened and we had to have them several extra days because school was canceled.

I saw in a KZbin video once that when the baby sleep, you should sleep too. That’ll give you energy during the day even if baby wakes you up at night. I’ve only used it when I play sims though, but it works.

I love these so much.

Now that Kelsey knows the baby's patterns, I would love for her to actually do the things before she puts in the key (eg. actually getting a couple diapers and "changing" her, pretending to warm up formula by putting some water in the microwave and then "feeding" her). I know she did some of it (like playing and burping) but I think it would be even more of a challenge. Either way this video was super entertaining

Great video as always! You should do something with the 100 baby challenge sims you created. Maybe combine it with the 100 sims to kill challenge you did! Itd be interesting to see which are easy for you to kill off and which you leave until the bitter end!

we had "Baby Think it Over" program in 8th grade I think, the cries gave me PTSD since they sound the same! We had the newer style of robot baby that had a bracelet that you had to hold in a well on the back once it cries and then actually "change" the diaper (something about sensors and magnets) as well as hold a real bottle to it's mouth, or rock it a certain way, etc. It had an honestly overly-sensitive "neck" sensor that went off if the baby's head went back AT. ALL. It messed up a lot of students' scores because it was so sensitive. --Yes babies have delicate heads and necks, but they were truly set too high!
