I love this vibes from german. I dont know how to explain it but this whisper, maybe rustling when someone is speaking, i would even say whistling from time to time are so beautiful. All these sound make me relax and calm so i understand why i'm going to learn german in future :)

Ich bin seit 4 Monaten in Züri (ich komme aus den USA) und jetzt lerne ich Hochdeutsch. Und ja, ich finde Schweizerdeutsch so schwierig aber ich mag viele Schweizer Wörter besser als das (hoch)deutsches Wort. Zum beispiel, "Rüebli" - ich finde es sind so nett!

This video was so sweet! Im trying to learn german and when i talk to my parents about it they start to yell words in german and say its an aggressive language when really to me its so calm and relaxing! I always try to tell them its not like that and your not yelling at one another and it will sound aggressive when done so but they don't really understand i think its just because of the hard sounds like v's r's and ch's etc idk what to really tell them at this point

and also what really helps me in my desire to acquire that beautiful language of German is by watching movies in German such as 4 example Learn German ( A1 ): whole movie in German - " Nicos Weg " by Deutsch lernen mit der DW and lemme tell ya wen I just dive right into the German language vs the spoon feeding technique I personally find that I am learning more German this way rather than the spoon feeding way. :) and this video that this precious woman is making and sharing hey i'm so proud of you :) I sure am . :)

This was a really cool video! So interesting to learn that swiss-German and standard German are so different. I'm guessing it's the same for the Italian and French sides of Switzerland too? I feel like it's similar for Spanish, i.e. Spain vs most of Latin America. I'm a native Spanish speaker but sometime Spain Spanish sounds completely foreign to me.

Spanish speaker as well and I like to think our language can be represented in a Venn diagram where every country has a least something common (non standard vocabulary wise) with all of the Spanish speaking countries.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think the Italian and French spoken in Switzerland is less dissimilar to that spoken in Italy / France than the Swiss German is to the German spoken in Germany.

@@josepha133 yes italian and french speaking parts of switzerland don’t have a strong dialect as much as the german speaking part, swiss german is so different than high german that even germans don’t understand swiss german.

genau! in the French-speaking part, only some words/pronunciations are different from France, while the German-speaking part has various dialects (in zürich, bern, sankt-gall usw...) they don't teach you at school. kids are taught hochdeutsch at school but dialects are spoken during recess ;)

Germans cant understand swiss germans unless they have learnt the language. You can t compate this to Spanish and Latin American Spanish. Its rather like Spanish and Portugese.
